Hours after Maksim Chmerkovskiy<\/a> apologized for hurting Jan Ravnik<\/a>\u2018s feelings by slamming<\/a> his Dancing With the Stars<\/a><\/em> casting, his wife, Peta Murgatroyd<\/a>, also addressed recent critiques she made about this season of the show. On the Friday, October 31, episode of her podcast<\/a>, Murgatroyd addressed her previous episode, which featured her and Chmerkovskiy weighing in on\u00a0DWTS<\/em>\u2018\u00a0Wicked<\/em><\/a> night.<\/p>\n \u201cSome of our critiques came off more harshly than intended,\u201d Murgatroyd explained. \u201cI wanted to be really clear that was never the goal.\u201d<\/p>\n She also clarified that she and Chmerkovskiy do not \u201ccondone\u201d any \u201cpersonal attacks\u201d and insisted that they \u201clove\u00a0Dancing With the Stars<\/em>,\u201d even though they\u2019ve moved on from being part of the cast.<\/p>\n While Murgatroyd previously said that viewers need to give Ravnik \u201cgrace\u201d with his choreography since this was his first season as a pro, she did agree with her husband that Ravnik and Rylee Arnold<\/a> may be too inexperienced to be on the main pro roster just yet.<\/p>\n \u201cJan and Rylee, please know that our intention was never to make things personal,\u201d the two-time Mirrorball champion said. \u201cWe\u2019re so sorry for hurting your feelings. Our goal is to discuss performances from a professional ballroom dancer\u2019s perspective, and, unfortunately, sometimes our passion can be mistaken for negativity, but that\u2019s never where our hearts are.\u201d<\/p>\n Chmerkovskiy previously came under fire for his harsh comments about Ravnik. \u201cJan has absolutely no business being a pro on\u00a0Dancing With the Stars<\/em>,\u201d he said, following Ravnik and Jennifer Affleck<\/a>\u2018s foxtrot dance on\u00a0Wicked\u00a0<\/em>night<\/a>. \u201cThere\u2019s zero foundation technique, quality, understanding of the partnership. Bro, I\u2019m getting emotional. It is absurd.\u201d<\/p>\n He called Ravnik\u2019s casting a \u201cmissed opportunity\u201d and said that Affleck was at a \u201cdisadvantage\u201d for being partnered with Ravnik (the two were eliminated<\/a> during this week\u2019s Halloween episode). Murgatroyd weighed in, adding that Ravnik was likely only cast because of his history as Taylor Swift<\/a>\u2018s backup dancer. \u201cHaving a non-ballroom dancer to teach ballroom dancing to a celebrity as a job is outrageous,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Arnold and her partner, Scott Hoying<\/a>, were eliminated after\u00a0Wicked\u00a0<\/em>night, and Chmerkovskiy said it was because the Pentatnoix singer was \u201ccompletely undertaught\u201d by his pro partner. \u201cI believe that this is a matter of experience for Rylee to understand that, in this case, he needed her to be facing him, looking at him and making him learn and making him repeat and place his hands,\u201d Chmerkovskiy said. \u201cRylee, where she comes from, knows what cleaning means.
