Former University of Kentucky competitive cheerleader Laken Snelling<\/strong> has been hit with new restrictions while living under house arrest after allegedly hiding her newborn baby\u2019s body in a closet.<\/span><\/p>\n

Snelling, 21, has been ordered to wear an ankle monitor and was placed on home confinement, according to documents obtained by LEX18<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The former cheerleader was ordered to permanently stay at her father\u2019s home in Tennessee.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since posting a $100,000 bond on September 2, Snelling had been splitting time between her parents\u2019 homes<\/a> under a joint custody provision.<\/span><\/p>\n

Snelling, 21, gave birth in the early morning hours of August 27, according to police records obtained by LEX18.\u00a0 The former cheerleader told police she passed out after [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Snelling must also contact Pretrial Services within seven days \u201cto facilitate the commencement of electronic monitoring,\u201d according to People<\/i><\/a>. It is unclear why the judge suddenly instituted the new guidelines.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Snelling is currently awaiting a grand jury trial in the death of her newborn on August 27.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She was officially arrested on August 30 and charged with abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence and concealing the birth of an infant.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Snelling has pleaded not guilty to all charges. She waived her right to a preliminary trial during a court appearance on September 26<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The cheerleader allegedly gave birth to the baby and then hid the body in a trash bag in the closet of her Lexington, Kentucky home.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After a third party allegedly found a \u201cblood-soaked towel on the floor and a plastic bag containing evidence of childbirth\u201d in Snelling\u2019s room, they called the police.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When Snelling was eventually interviewed by authorities, she \u201cadmitted to giving birth\u201d and to \u201cconcealing the birth by cleaning any evidence, placing all cleaning items used inside of a black trash bag, including the infant, who was wrapped in a towel.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Snelling alleged she passed out on top of the baby<\/a> after giving birth, waking up to find it \u201cblue and purple.\u201d She believed the baby was alive at the time of birth, saying she heard a \u201cwhimper.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

According to police records, the infant\u2019s remains \u201cappeared to be full term when discovered.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The infant\u2019s death was ruled inconclusive<\/a> and \u201cextensive microscopic analyses are essential to determine the cause and manner of death,\u201d according to a report from the Fayette County Coroner\u2019s Office obtained by Us Weekly <\/i>on September 4.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI understand the community\u2019s concern and sensitivity surrounding the death of a child,\u201d Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn<\/strong> said in the report. \u201cWe are conducting a thorough and methodical death investigation to ensure all facts are carefully considered.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

A search of Snelling\u2019s phone found that she had searched for \u201cdifferent things pertaining to pregnancy, images of her during labor, photos of her doing things ordinary pregnant women should not be doing and a concealed or hidden pregnancy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

According to records, some of the photos in Snelling\u2019s phone had attempted to be deleted, leading police to theorize \u201cother items could have also been deleted in an attempt to hide any evidence of the pregnancy, birth and newborn baby.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
