Dancing with the Stars<\/a> alum Maksim Chmerkovskiy<\/a><\/strong> recently apologized to<\/strong> Jan Ravnik<\/strong> for his previous critiques about his performance days. This comes after Chmerkovskiy faced significant backlash online after he and his wife discussed Ravnik\u2019s ballroom dancing skills on DWTS<\/strong> on Peta Murgatroyd\u2019s podcast, The Penthouse with Peta.<\/p>\n Days after discussing the DWTS star\u2019s ballroom dancing skills<\/a>, the veteran choreographer has apologized to him.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m sorry, Jan has absolutely no business being a pro on Dancing with the Stars. There\u2019s zero foundation, technique, quality, understanding of the partnership,\u201d Maksim Chmerkovskiy previously said of Jan Ravnik, who is best known for being a part of Taylor Swift\u2019s Eras Tour.<\/p>\n However, after Chmerkovskiy met with significant backlash for his comments, he issued an apology to Ravnik on October 30, 2025. \u201cI want to apologize to Jan for the way my words hurt your feelings,\u201d he said about the latter in an Instagram video<\/a>. \u201cI would love to meet, I would love to talk about this, bury the hatchet.\u201d<\/p>\n Chmerkovskiy continued, \u201cMost importantly, I think, you know, walk away with knowing me feeling completely different\u2026And, dare I say, we probably might even be friends.\u201d He went on to explain that he was the kind of person who would tell you \u201chow it is.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMy commentary on dance does not come with feelings and emotions. It just comes with a completely different range of reasoning,\u201d Maksim Chmerkovskiy added. \u201cI would like to explain myself, like I said. I would like this to be personal, because this is, this is crazy to me.\u201d<\/p>\n The Latin ballroom dance champion also addressed the criticisms aimed at him regarding his dancing skills. He said, \u201cWell, you can\u2019t really hurt my feelings by saying, \u2018Look at you, loser. You only won once.\u2019\u2026Yes, I know that more than anybody else. I\u2019m very well aware that every single member in my family has won Dancing with the Stars more than I have. They are much better at Dancing with the Stars than me.\u201d Moreover, he stated that he could never battle the public perception during his time on the show and even acknowledged his mistakes.<\/p>\n Either way, it seems that Maksim Chmerkovskiy<\/a> made an earnest effort to make things right with Jan Ravnik.
