\n\tMusic for musicians and food for thinkers \u2014 that\u2019s the best way to describe \u201cBerghain\u201d, the first single from Spanish superstar ROSAL\u00cdA\u2019s upcoming album,\u00a0LUX<\/em>, featuring Bj\u00f6rk and Yves Tumor. Laden with symbolism both in its lyrics and accompanying video, the piece \u2014 structured in operatic movements \u2014surprises with Rosal\u00eda\u2019s lyrical performance, gliding seamlessly between English, German, and her native Spanish. \u201cBerghain,\u201d possibly a nod to the exclusive Berlin nightclub, is steeped in a gothic mystique that frames its central theme: a woman tormented by a toxic relationship, portrayed most vividly in the video, where Rosal\u00eda embodies a Snow White straight out of the Brothers Grimm.<\/p>\n

\n\tSurrounding her, the London Symphony Orchestra, appearing as she performs domestic chores like ironing, seem to personify the thoughts that haunt her, in a mise-en-sc\u00e8ne rich with religious symbolism. In the end, Rosal\u00eda breaks free, transforming into a dove that takes flight.
