Last week, the benevolent folks in Puscifer<\/a> deigned it necessary to not only share the fact that they\u2019ve got a new album titled Normal Isn\u2019t<\/em> coming out early next year, but they shared some new tunes. Fast-forward to today and they\u2019ve dropped another song on our heads \u2014 this time it\u2019s a song titled \u201cPendulum.\u201d<\/p>\n Along with the song\u2019s release was the dissemination of its music video. Or rather, the \u201cdirector\u2019s cut\u201d of the video. It\u2019s got a whole post-punk underground vibe that I\u2019m really digging and introduces a new character named Bellendia Black. She\u2019s described as \u201ca shadowy figure draped in layers of flowing black fabrics, with skin pale as moonlight, fingers tipped with black lacquered nails, and an unmistakable aura of melancholic elegance.\u201d<\/p>\n Speaking of the song, Maynard James Keenan said \u201cPendulum\u201d reminds him of a past-time.<\/p>\n \u201cThe dramatic and romantic nature of this track induces a sonic sense memory that transports me back to the dark and moody dance floor of Club Iguana, Austin, TX, circa 1985. I can almost smell the clove cigarettes.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Similarly, Mat Mitchel says the song \u201cis a nod to the \u201880s dark underground,\u201d while Carina Round described the song as featuring \u201cgorgeous synths coiling around sweet, twisted melodies while the world burns.\u201d<\/p>\n You can check out the track for yourself below.
