The post Taylor Swift reacts to Chris Jones singing \u2018Fate of Ophelia\u2019 at Chiefs presser<\/a> appeared first on ClutchPoints<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>\u2019 Chris Jones<\/a> went viral for singing lyrics from Taylor Swift\u2019s new album on Thursday, Oct. 30.<\/p>\n During the Chiefs\u2019 press conference, the defensive tackle went viral for singing lyrics from Swift\u2019s \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cKeep it one hundred on the land, the sea, the sky,\u201d he sang while nodding his head and grinning, as he exited the room.<\/p>\n The video has not only gone viral on X but also on TikTok where Swift showed her thankfulness to Jones for supporting her album by \u201cliking\u201d the video.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cTravis be PLAYING that album huh?\u201d one fan commented on the X video referring to Swift\u2019s fianc\u00e9, Travis Kelce. The Chiefs tight end proposed in August after two years of dating.<\/p>\n Kelce praised the album on his podcast<\/a>, New Heights, which he co-hosts with his older brother Jason Kelce.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m just the lucky man that gets to be, you know, the support system for Taylor while she drops one of the coolest albums that I\u2019ve ever listened to, that the world\u2019s seen,\u201d Kelce said on\u00a0the October 8 episode\u00a0of his podcast. \u201cI\u2019m excited for her. I\u2019m happy for her.\u201d<\/p>\n Prior to Jones\u2019 using the song for his \u201cintro music\u201d into the Chiefs\u2019 presser this week, Kelce went viral for motioning the song lyrics<\/a> during his 100th career touchdown celebration.<\/p>\n Swift, who has been nominated for the 2026 Songwriters Hall of Fame<\/a>, shared how the song materialized.<\/p>\n \u201cI have a big file of lyrics, [which] is so long and so weird. There are just so many,\u201d Swift said during her Release Party of a Showgirl theatrical event, per Us Weekly. \u201cWhen I\u2019ll be in a writing session, I\u2019ll be scrolling through this file. It was actually [producer] Shellback who came up with this really cool chord progression, and I was just singing on top of it, and my eyes scanned across \u2018The Fate of Ophelia.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n She continued, \u201cI was like, \u2018Wait, so Ophelia drowned because Hamlet just messed with her head so much that she went crazy and she couldn\u2019t take it anymore, and all these men were just gaslighting her until she drowned.\u2019 It\u2019s like, \u2018What if the hook was like you saved my heart from the fate of Ophelia?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Ophelia is based on the female heroine from William Shakespeare\u2019s Hamlet, who dies from drowning after suffering a mental break following Hamlet rejecting her and accidentally killing her father, Claudius.<\/p>\n The song has become a fan-favorite and has had three consecutive weeks in the top spot of Billboard\u2019s Hot 100.
