When Rosal\u00eda sat down with ELLE<\/a> for her September 2025 cover story, she was asked about her highly anticipated fourth studio album\u2014the follow-up to her Grammy-winning 2022 project Motomami<\/em>. At the time of the interview, the new LP hadn\u2019t been finished yet.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is time?\u201d she said. \u201cThat\u2019s so relative! So there\u2019s always a deadline and, well, the deadline can always change.\u201d <\/p>\n

But now, she\u2019s revealed that her new album, Lux<\/em>, is officially on its way. Here\u2019s everything you need to know about Rosal\u00eda\u2019s forthcoming studio album.<\/p>\n

When does Lux<\/em> come out?<\/h2>\n

Lux<\/em> will be released on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025.<\/p>\n

Has she released a single yet?<\/h2>\n

Yes. On October 27, she released \u201cBerghain<\/a>\u201d featuring Bj\u00f6rk and Yves Tumor. In the song, Rosal\u00eda sings opera in German and Spanish, while Bj\u00f6rk and Yves Tumor deliver their lines in English. <\/p>\n

For the music video, Rosal\u00eda performs alongside a full orchestra as she goes about everyday tasks like ironing, making her bed, and riding public transit before it transitions into a Snow White<\/em>-like sequence with singing animals. <\/p>\n

About working with Bj\u00f6rk, Rosal\u00eda told the New York Times\u2019 Popcast<\/a><\/em> podcast, \u201cShe is my favorite woman and artist.\u201d When they met for tapas in Barcelona, \u201cI thought that she was the most fascinating human I\u2019ve ever met because her train of thought was so different than I\u2019ve ever seen before. It was just an instant crush of admiration. We stayed in touch and I just felt like with this album, if this was such a strong, demanding musical exercise, if I was doing it good enough, maybe I would send it to her, and if it was in the right level, maybe then she couldn\u2019t say no.\u201d<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the concept behind Lux<\/em>?<\/h2>\n

\u201cThe main inspiration is feminine mystique,\u201d she told Popcast<\/a><\/em>. She also said that the album is very spiritual, and that it has the \u201cintention of verticality.\u201d She added, \u201cI think that I\u2019ve always had a desire of, how can I get close to God? How can I be closer to God? That spiritual feeling has always been there; it\u2019s just that I haven\u2019t rationalized it or intellectualized it.\u201d<\/p>\n

And in a time where everything may feel superficial, she wants depth. \u201cThe more we are in the era of dopamine, the more I want the opposite,\u201d she said. \u201cThat\u2019s what I\u2019m craving.\u201d <\/p>\n

Can I hear any of the album ahead of its release?<\/h2>\n

Yes! During her Popcast<\/em> interview, short song clips were played throughout. Around the 21:25 mark, you can hear \u201cDios Es Un Stalker\u201d; at 31:35, \u201cSauvignon Blanc\u201d; at 41:38, \u201cMio Cristo\u201d; and at 1:17:26, \u201cLa Perla.\u201d <\/p>\n

Wait\u2014how many languages will she sing in?<\/h2>\n

In addition to recording the album with the London Symphony Orchestra, Rosal\u00eda revealed that she sings in 13 different languages on Lux<\/em>, including Spanish, English, Latin, German, Ukrainian, Arabic, and more. <\/p>\n

\u201cI love traveling, I love learning from other humans,\u201d she told Popcast<\/em>. \u201cWhy would I not try to learn another language and try to sing in another language and expand the way I can be a singer or a musician or an artist? The world is so connected.\u201d <\/p>\n

She added, \u201cIt\u2019s because of the love and curiosity, wanting to understand better the other. You know, [the philosopher] Simone Weil, she says, \u2018love is to love the distance between ourselves and the loved object.\u2019 And I think it\u2019s true: Through understanding the other, maybe you can understand yourself better, and you can learn how to love better.\u201d<\/p>\n
