The first episode of Celebrity Traitors has been criticised by fans, with reaction on social media seemingly confirming Claudia Winkleman\u2019s fears about the reality show spin off.<\/p>\n

After three incredibly successful seasons of The Traitors<\/a>, the decision was made to finally have a celebrity focused spin-off.<\/p>\n

The cast has been praised for being one of the most stacked in UK<\/a> reality TV history.<\/p>\n

The headline names included Stephen Fry, Niko Omilana<\/a>, Clare Balding, Lucy Beaumont, and Tom Daley, amongst a number of other celebs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One comment on a Reddit<\/a> thread discussing the first episode of Celebrity Traitors concurred many people\u2019s thoughts on the cast, saying: \u201cMost stacked celebrity reality tv cast in the history of celebrity reality tv shows?\u201d<\/p>\n

In spite of this though, Claudia<\/a> was initially unsure about the concept of the spin-off, a fear which some feel has come true.<\/p>\n

The show is the first UK spin-off of The Traitors (BBC)<\/p><\/div>\n

Speaking after the announcement of the Celebrity version<\/a> of the show, Claudia revealed she was \u2018scared\u2019.<\/p>\n

Speaking to The Telegraph she revealed she didn\u2019t want them to do the spin-off, saying: \u201cOnly because I\u2019m in love with this show and I wanted to keep it small.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce a year, or maybe once every two years, felt like enough.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy bosses, thank goodness, ignored everything I said.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite this though, many people felt that this was exactly the issue with the first episode of the show.<\/p>\n

Many people had a common complaint about the spin-off version of the series (and it wasn\u2019t just that Bob Mortimer didn\u2019t show up).<\/p>\n

Claudia was unsure about the concept of the show (BBC)<\/p><\/div>\n

One fan took to X, saying: \u201cI kind of want to watch Celebrity Traitors<\/a> bc of the tweets, but the fun for me was in watching everyday people play the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s almost no knowledge of their life before the show and i loved that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another fan tweeted similar, saying: \u201cCelebrity Traitors! Not sure how much I\u2019m going to love this – feels like this lot are such big personalities that they might be too good at playing the game!\u201d<\/p>\n

A third said: \u201c#Traitors not feeling the celebrity version , kinda boring.\u201d<\/p>\n

One viewer however had a slightly different complaint, suggesting that the traitors Claudia picked were \u2018sh*t\u2019.<\/p>\n

This ended up being (spoilers for the first episode)\u2026 Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross, and Cat Burns.<\/p>\n

The show’s traitors selection had some fans unsure (BBC)<\/p><\/div>\n

Whilst one or two deemed this selection less than ideal, others were specifically loving Alan Carr\u2019s less than subtle sweating after being named Traitor.<\/p>\n

One comment on Reddit said: \u201cAlan Carr is making me laugh. I feel like hes gonna go down in flames in the most entertaining way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another said: \u201cAlan Carr might be one of the worst traitors ever but hey I’m laughing and he’s completely self-aware so even better.\u201d<\/p>\n

Regardless, whether you feel the idea is a bit sh*t or are excited and tuned in, Celebrity Traitors is officially underway and many fans were thrilled.<\/p>\n

One tweeted: \u201cThis is already the greatest celebrity iteration of a show – they’re taking it the perfect amount of seriously. Also pls can Alan stay in as long as possible he’s killing me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The next episode of Celebrity Traitors airs tomorrow night on BBC One at 9pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
