LIVE FROM NEW YORK \u2014 After a one-week hiatus, \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d is back with a new episode tonight with host Miles Teller and musical guest Brandi Carlile.<\/p>\n
Teller, who is known for films including \u201cDivergent,\u201d \u201cWhiplash\u201d and \u201cTop Gun: Maverick,\u201d previously hosted<\/a> \u201cSNL\u201d in October 2022. He is currently promoting his upcoming film \u201cEternity,\u201d which hits theaters on Nov. 14.<\/p>\n Carlile\u2019s eighth studio album, \u201cReturning to Myself,\u201d released on Oct. 24. The Grammy winner has been the \u201cSNL\u201d musical guest three times before<\/a>: in October 2021, in December 2022, and with Elton John in April 2025.<\/p>\n Standup comedian Nikki Glaser, meanwhile, will make her \u201cSNL\u201d hosting debut on Nov. 8. Twenty-year-old musical guest Sombr will be making his \u201cSNL\u201d debut alongside her.<\/p>\n The Nov. 15 episode of \u201cSNL\u201d will be another night of debuts for actor and first-time host Glen Powell and first-time musical guest Olivia Dean.<\/p>\n The show kicked off its 51st season on Oct. 4 with musician Bad Bunny as host and musical guest Doja Cat performing.<\/p>\n On Oct. 11, former SNL cast member Amy Poehler hosted alongside musical guest Role Model. Poehler anchored \u201cWeekend Update\u201d<\/a> during her tenure and has hosted twice before \u2014 once in 2010<\/a> and again in 2015 alongside Tina Fey, who made a surprise appearance during Saturday\u2019s cold open<\/a>. Musician Charli XCX also made an appearance during Role Model\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n Popular singer-songwriter Sabrina Carpenter took on double duty as both host and musical guest on Oct. 18. This was Carpenter\u2019s hosting debut, but she previously performed on the show in 2024<\/a> and alongside Paul Simon at the SNL50 anniversary special<\/a> in February 2025.<\/p>\n \u201cSNL\u201d fans will be excited to know that former Staten Islander Colin Jost, the longest-serving \u201cWeekend Update\u201d anchor in the show\u2019s history, is still behind the desk.
