Louis van Amstel<\/strong> thinks Maksim Chmerkovskiy<\/strong> said what \u201cwhat most people are thinking\u201d when he called out Dancing with the Stars <\/em>newcomer Jan Ravnik\u2019s lack of ballroom experience.<\/p>\n In an interview with Us Weekly<\/em><\/a>, the veteran DWTS <\/em>dancer, who competed on 11 seasons of the show, backed\u00a0Chmerkovskiy\u2019s recent comments about Ravnik, the incoming pro who was a backup dancer on Taylor Swift\u2019s Eras tour.<\/p>\n \u201cThere was a little riff going on about Maks criticizing Jan,\u201c van Amstel said. \u201cI have to agree, the content of what Maks was talking about, I totally agree. Jan has no ballroom dance experience. You can see it. He has no teaching experience, but he is a fantastic dancer and even better person.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cDo I agree with Maks that Jan has no ballroom experience and no teaching experience in ballroom dancing? Yes,\u201d van Amstel added. \u201cAnd Maks always says what many people think. \u2026 You can disagree with him all you want, but he says what most people are thinking. People criticize Maks and attack him, and ultimately, the delivery could have been different. He also expressed hope that Ranvik would meet with him in person.<\/p>\n \u201cThat was big of Maks to go on social media and invite Jan publicly to go for coffee, to talk it up,\u201d van Amstel told Us Weekly<\/em>.<\/p>\n Several other past DWTS <\/em>dancers have defended Ravnik, who was partnered with Secret Lives of Mormon Wives<\/em> star Jen Affleck<\/strong> for his first season as a pro on the ABC ballroom show.<\/p>\n Just before Ravnik and Affleck were eliminated from the competition during the live DWTS <\/em>Halloween episode, Derek Hough<\/strong> declared that Ravnik was having a \u201cfantastic\u201d first season as a pro dancer.<\/p>\n And during the Oct. 30 episode of her\u00a0In the 4th Chair<\/em> podcast<\/a>, longtime DWTS <\/em>pro Sharna Burgess<\/strong> said, \u201cI feel like Jan has had a great first season.
