Princess Diana<\/a>‘s younger sibling shared with host Gyles Brandreth his choice to abandon a conventional eulogy format and instead “speak to her” through his remarks.<\/p>\n While discussing his emotions after his sister’s tragic passing in 1997, the 61-year-old recalled, “I was living in South Africa – I flew back from Cape Town overnight. [A] very, very sweet stewardess helping me because I was in bits.”<\/p>\n He went on, “I like to keep busy. In those days, I had a big, thick address book and I thought I wanted to find someone who was going to give the speech for her. Obviously, the other parent being alive meant nothing. But it meant something to me.”<\/p>\n His dismissive reference to the then-Prince Charles as “the other parent” sparked attention across social media platforms.
