Amid speculation she\u2019ll depart CBS Mornings<\/a><\/em> next year, Gayle King<\/a> says she has \u201cno idea\u201d about a potential job change at CBS News<\/p>\n

On Friday, a TMZ<\/a> reporter interviewed King as she exited CBS Broadcast Center in New York City.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll I can say is this, from what I\u2019m being told inside this building \u2014 take a shot, 524 W. 57th \u2014 all I\u2019ve been told by everybody in this building is that they want me here [and] they like the job I\u2019m doing. I like the job I\u2019m doing,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She went on: \u201cI\u2019ll say this, I like the job and the people that I work with. So, I don\u2019t know what to tell you. I don\u2019t know what to tell you about it. What I\u2019m hearing in the building is not what I\u2019m reading in the press. And what I\u2019m not going to do is negotiate in the media. Not doing that.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for what will happen in May, when King\u2019s contract is reportedly expiring, King said, \u201cI have no idea. I have no idea. All I know is, I am here. I am here and glad to be here.\u201d<\/p>\n

King has co-hosted CBS Mornings<\/em> since 2012 \u2014 when the program was still called The Early Show<\/em>\u2014 but on Thursday, Variety<\/a><\/em> reported that she\u2019ll leave her anchor role on the show next year<\/a> amid a widespread overhaul at CBS News and that she may move to another role at the news division.<\/p>\n

A CBS News spokesperson told Variety<\/em>, \u201cThere have been no discussions with Gayle about her contract that runs through May 2026. She\u2019s a truly valued part of CBS, and we look forward to engaging with her about the future.\u201d An attorney for King, meanwhile, did not respond to the publication\u2019s requests for comment.<\/p>\n

The overhaul at CBS News comes after the merger of Paramount Global, CBS\u2019 parent company, with Skydance Media. Bari Weiss<\/a>, a journalist behind the conservative opinion website The Free Press, has become CBS News\u2019 editor-in-chief, and the news division is parting ways with CBS Evening News<\/a><\/em> co-anchor John Dickerson<\/a> and CBS Saturday Morning<\/em> co-anchors Michelle Miller and Dana Jacobson<\/a>.<\/p>\n
