break-words\">On Friday, Oct. 31, PEOPLE got an exclusive look at the couple\u2019s annual Halloween at Vandy Manor event, during which Silver, 54, stars in and produces an extravagant Halloween show at their home in Malibu, Calif.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">This year, Silver made her grand entrance dressed as her signature character, Ursula from <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/jodi-benson-reveals-which-iteration-of-the-little-mermaid-animation-theater-live-action-is-her-favorite-11831562\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:The Little Mermaid;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><em>The Little Mermaid<\/em><\/a>, to lip sync to \u201cPoor Unfortunate Souls\u201d alongside her talented Vandy Manor Dancers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">For his part, Van Dyke, 99, watched proudly from the wings as his wife of 13 years went on to Silver tells PEOPLE. \u201cPeople associate him with Christmas, but he&#8217;s totally Halloween all the way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">After all, Silver recalls Van Dyke telling her about how he used to \u201chave the thing on the street\u201d back in the &#8217;50s and &#8217;60s. And while their version of the event started with a few monsters and backyard decorations, it quickly came to include everything from scare actors and life-like animatronics to professional puppeteers and belly dancing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cWe did a lip sync on the porch \u2014 on the steps in the middle, the front \u2014 and people loved it,\u201d Silver remembers of their first few years hosting Halloween at Vandy Manor, around a decade ago. \u201cAnd we did it 10 times, and Dick was like, \u2018Oh my God, we got to get a stage. Little kids can come \u2014 sometimes little kids were too scared for the big monsters \u2014 and now almost everyone is in costume. That&#8217;s the thing I love. I love that everybody&#8217;s in costume, and Dick, he loves to watch the show. I&#8217;m his favorite.
