Andrew Mountbatten Windsor once had \u201c40 prostitutes\u201d delivered to his Thailand hotel, according to new claims from a historian.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The disgraced royal embarked on a two-week vacation to the Southeast Asian country after being made Trade Envoy, royal expert Andrew Lownie told Daily Mail<\/i> correspondent Sarah Vine on Wednesday\u2019s episode of the Deep Dive<\/a><\/i> podcast.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cIn 2001, he is 41, he\u2019s having his midlife crisis and he basically starts chasing lots and lots of women,\u201d the author of the unauthorised biography, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York<\/i>, alleged.<\/p>\n \u201cHe uses the excuse of his role as Trade Envoy, paid for by the taxpayer, to go off on these trips, but he always puts in two weeks of \u2018private time.\u2019 So, we pay for his holiday and then he goes off and does things.\u201d<\/p>\n Lownie then recalled \u201ca famous trip to Thailand\u201d to celebrate King Rama IX\u2019s birthday, Page Six<\/a><\/i> reports. The former King of Thailand died in 2016.<\/p>\n MORE: $57m Queen lodge now a dump under Prince Andrew<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n \u201cAndrew is representing his country and insists on staying in a five-star hotel rather than the embassy, which he always did,\u201d he claimed, noting that Andrew allegedly had \u201c40 prostitutes brought in the space of four days \u2026 just for him.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis was all enabled by diplomats and others,\u201d the royal expert further alleged.<\/p>\n Lownie also claimed that multiple sources \u2014 including a Reuters correspondent and a member of the Thai royal family \u2014 had verified the prostitution allegations.<\/p>\n The latest claims come just one day after the disgraced royal \u2014 who was formerly referred to as Prince Andrew \u2014 was stripped of his \u201cprince\u201d title amid the scandal over his ties to late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n \u201cHis Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,\u201d Buckingham Palace said in a statement.<\/p>\n \u201cHis lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation.\u201d<\/p>\n The statement continued, \u201cThese censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him. Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathise<\/p>\n s have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.\u201d<\/p>\n The title removal \u2014 which went into effect immediately and was a consequence of \u201cserious lapses of Judgement\u201d \u2014 applied to Prince, Duke of York, Earl of Inverness, Baron Killyleagh and \u201cHis Royal Highness.\u201d<\/p>\n He now goes by Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.<\/p>\n
