Jessica Simpson<\/strong><\/a> is celebrating her accomplishments amid her ongoing divorce from estranged husband, Eric Johnson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201c8 years ago today I made the choice to confront, to confess and to let go of the self sabotaging parts of my life that I was choosing,\u201d the singer wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Saturday, November 1. \u201cMaking that decision allowed me to fully live in the pursuit of Gods[sic] purpose for my life. Alcohol silenced my intuition, blocked my dreams and chased my circulating fears of complacency.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued in the caption, which was accompanied by a smiling selfie, \u201cToday I am clear. Today I am driven by faith. Both fear and faith are something that we feel and may not see, I\u2019m so happy I chose faith over fear. It was not in the fight that I found my strength, it was in the surrender.\u201d<\/p>\n

The singer has been candid regarding her previous substance abuse issues<\/a> and sobriety journey, previously explaining that she relied on alcohol to help her mentally and emotionally cope with her past traumas.<\/p>\n

\u201cI honestly couldn\u2019t even tell you who got them ready. I was just dazed and confused, and I just wanted to go to sleep,\u201d Simpson said during a January 2020 interview on Today<\/em>, referring to a moment in October 2017 when she said she failed to show up as a mom for her kids \u2014 Maxwell, Ace and Birdie \u2014 on Halloween and realized she needed to get sober.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t take them trick-or-treating,\u201d she continued at the time. \u201cI didn\u2019t show up for my family. I took the picture and I made the world think that I had showed up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Simpson shares her three children with her estranged husband, Johnson. The pair announced their split<\/a> in January 2025 after 10 years of marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201cEric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage,\u201d Simpson told Us Weekly<\/em> in a statement on January 13. \u201cOur children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amid her split, Simpson returned to music following a 15-year hiatus, debuting two new songs \u2014 \u201cBreadcrumbs\u201d and \u201cLeave\u201d \u2014 at 2025\u2019s South By Southwest in Texas.<\/p>\n
