Morrissey<\/a> has cancelled a pair of Mexico shows at the last minute due to \u201cextreme exhaustion\u201d.<\/p>\n The former Smiths<\/a> frontman had been due to play at Mexico City\u2019s Palacio De Los Deportes yesterday (October 31) and the Auditorio Telmex near Guadalajara on Tuesday (November 4), but an Instagram statement from promoter Ocesa confirmed yesterday that the shows could not go ahead.<\/p>\n The announcement confirmed that the decision had been made as a result of \u201cthe artist\u2019s extreme exhaustion\u201d, and that all tickets bought online will be refunded automatically, while tickets purchased via Ticketmaster or at the box office will be available for refund from the point of purchase from November 7.<\/p>\n Morrissey has not issued a statement, other than posting a link to his 1992 single \u2018I Know It\u2019s Gonna Happen Someday\u2019 on his website<\/a>, along with Mexican emojis.<\/p>\n He is scheduled to play in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru and Colombia in the next three weeks and there has been no update on the status of those shows. See all the dates in the Instagram post below.<\/p>\n These are far from the first Morrissey shows to be cancelled or postponed in recent months \u2013 in April, he called off two US shows after being hospitalised with \u201ca severe sinusitis attack\u201d<\/a>, while a show in Stockholm in June was cancelled<\/a> after the singer said his band were \u201ctravel-weary beyond belief\u201d and had received \u201czero music industry support\u201d.<\/p>\n In September, two more gigs in the US were called off after a \u201ccredible threat\u201d was made on Morrissey\u2019s life<\/a> on Bluesky, while last month, two gigs in Turkey were cancelled<\/a>, with fans speculating that they were scrapped due to the singer\u2019s apparent support of Israel.<\/p>\n Morrissey recently announced his sole UK gig for 2026<\/a>, to take place at The O2 in London on February 28 \u2013 find any remaining tickets for that show here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Elsewhere, he took to his\u00a0website\u00a0earlier this year to confirm\u00a0that he had \u201cno choice but to offer for sale all of his business interests\u201d in The Smiths\u00a0to any potential investors or parties<\/a>.<\/p>\n He explained: \u201cI am burnt out by any and all connections to\u00a0[Johnny] Marr<\/a>,\u00a0[Andy] Rourke<\/a>, [Mike] Joyce. I have had enough of malicious associations. With my entire life I have paid my rightful dues to these songs and these images. I would now like to live disassociated from those who wish me nothing but ill-will and destruction, and this is the only resolution.\u201d<\/p>\n A subsequent update announced that\u00a0the email address for offers had been \u201cswitched off\u201d due to a \u201ccolossal response\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n It comes after Morrissey\u00a0claimed last summer that AEG Entertainment offered the surviving Smiths\u2019 members \u201ca lucrative offer\u201d to organise a worldwide tour<\/a>. This, the singer claimed, was something he was interested in pursuing, but ultimately fell through as \u201cMarr ignored the offer\u201d.<\/p>\n\n<\/blockquote>\n
