The music of the Grateful Dead<\/strong> is featured in an upcoming movie from pro\u00a0skier\u00a0and artist Chris Benchetler<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Mountains of the Moon<\/em><\/a>, which opens in select theaters Nov. 14, is described as a film that \u201cexplores the unseen connections between sport, life, music, and the living earth\u2014set to the timeless tunes of the Grateful Dead.\u201d<\/p>\n The film was shot entirely at night and contains footage of oceans, mountains, rivers and more. It features athletes, adventurers and others \u201cnavigating through the natural world.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMountains of the Moon<\/em> is an artistic journey where light became my paintbrush and the Earth our canvas,\u201d Benchetler says. \u201cBy breaking free of the sun\u2019s constraints, we were able to sculpt emotion, energy, and movement, juxtaposed into the landscape \u2014 layering sport, art, music, and nature to create something that speaks beyond words and more into feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n Grateful Dead\u00a0drummer Mickey Hart<\/strong> appears in the film, drumming on top of a\u00a0snow sculpture on Mammoth Mountain in California.<\/p>\n \u201cThe music of the Grateful Dead has always been about exploration \u2013 of sound, spirit, and the unknown,\u201d says Hart. \u201cMountains of the Moon<\/em> taps into that same energy, pushing creative boundaries to illuminate the deep connection between art, nature, and human expression.
