The actor recently discussed with Esquire<\/a><\/em> magazine how, after the Tony Awards in June, he ended the night \u201clike a high school drunk.\u201d The actor mostly abstained during the six-month period when he was rehearsing and later making his Broadway debut as journalist Edward R. A source told the outlet, \u201cAmal has drawn a firm line. She\u2019s told George that his drinking isn\u2019t something she\u2019s prepared to overlook. She admired the effort he put into staying sober, but hearing him boast about getting \u2018dumb drunk\u2019 really upset her.\u201d<\/p>\n Sources are even saying that Amal Clooney sees moments like that night as a \u201cslippery slope\u201d back into old habits that Clooney had pretty much abandoned.<\/p>\n \u201cGeorge worked hard to give up drinking before, and he often said how much better he felt and how it improved things between them.
