On one of her recent live streams, the Moroccan-Canadian internet sensation, with more than 9 million fans on Twitch, admitted to having been messaged by a man complimenting her and asking her out for several months. Nothing out of the ordinary in the world of streamers. until he posted his engagement on Instagram.<\/p>\n
Pokimane\u2019s response? Confusion and anger in equal parts.<\/p>\n
\u201cTell me why this guy has been DMing me for months, trying to link up, responding to my outfit pics, etc. And he just announced his engagement on Instagram,\u201d she explained. \u201cIt pisses me off because it\u2019s in that gray area of like, I don\u2019t think that this warrants messaging the girl and being like, \u2018hey girl.\u2019 But also it\u2019s fucking odd. Then again, maybe they\u2019re in an open relationship. I don\u2019t freaking know.\u201d<\/p>\n
Her rant quickly went viral, sparking an online debate involving parasocial relationships, respect, and boundaries in the world of creators and their fan base.<\/p>\n
