Online<\/a><\/p>\n Justin Baldoni<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s countersuit against Blake Lively<\/a><\/strong> has seemingly come to an end.<\/p>\n The It Ends With Us<\/em> actor and director missed the deadline to appeal a judge\u2019s dismissal of his $400 million defamation and extortion case<\/a> against his costar, her husband Ryan Reynolds<\/a><\/strong> and The<\/em> New York Times<\/em>, effectively bringing the legal matter to a close, according to court documents obtained by multiple<\/a> outlets<\/a>.<\/p>\n After Judge Lewis J. Liman<\/strong> dismissed Baldoni\u2019s case in June<\/a>, the 41-year-old and his Wayfarer Studios failed to file an amended complaint before an established deadline. They were also given until Oct. 17 to respond to a court order asking why a final judgment shouldn\u2019t be entered in the case, but failed to do so, per the outlets\u2019 documents.<\/p>\n Despite the judge\u2019s Oct. 31 ruling, Baldoni retains the right to appeal the judgment once the court rules on Lively\u2019s request to recoup her legal fees<\/a>, the outlets reported.<\/p>\n More from E! The Gossip Girl<\/em> alum\u2019s own lawsuit against her former colleague<\/a>\u2014in which she accused him of sexually harassing her on set of the 2024 romantic drama and hiring a crisis PR expert to help tarnish her reputation, both of which he has denied\u2014is set to go to trial in March 2026.<\/p>\n
