DJ and producer Diplo raised eyebrows this week after joking he once dated both singer Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau<\/a>.<\/p>\n The 46-year-old made the claim during a recent appearance on the Smart Girl Dumb Questions podcast, where the topic of Perry\u2019s new relationship came up. “And now Katy Perry<\/a> is dating Justin,” Diplo said. “Pretty fire.”<\/p>\n Podcast host Nayeema Raza began to respond before Diplo, who was once high on LSD<\/a> during a celebrity.land broadcast, interrupted.<\/p>\n “Dated Katy Perry, like me?” he asked. “I did.”<\/p>\n When Raza clarified she meant Trudeau, Diplo doubled down.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n “I did date Trudeau too,” he said, later adding, “That was a weird one though. I\u2019m not into politicians.”<\/p>\n Raza replied that she found Trudeau attractive. “He is kind of hot,” Diplo agreed.<\/p>\n The podcast has since clarified that Diplo was joking.<\/p>\n A fan had commented on YouTube, “He dated Trudeau????” The show responded, “Lol, he\u2019s making a joke.”<\/p>\n While the comment about Trudeau appears to be in jest, Diplo was briefly linked to Perry in 2014.<\/p>\n At the time, the two were spotted together in New York<\/a> City, prompting speculation about their relationship.<\/p>\n One said they were friends, while another told E!
