AIR FORCE ONE, Nov 3 \u2014 US President Donald Trump said he felt \u201cbadly\u201d for the UK royal family after King Charles III stripped his brother Andrew of his title of prince over his ties to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel very badly. I mean, it\u2019s a terrible thing that\u2019s happened to the family,\u201d Trump told AFP aboard Air Force One when asked about the controversy.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s been a tragic situation, and it\u2019s too bad. I mean, I feel badly for the family,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Trump, 79, has himself faced scrutiny in recent months over his alleged links to Epstein, a New York financier who died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking of underage girls.<\/p>\n
The British government said it would also move to revoke Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor\u2019s honorary title of vice-admiral, his last remaining military rank.<\/p>\n
King Charles removed all of his younger brother\u2019s royal titles and honours last week and evicted him from his long-time residence on the Windsor estate.<\/p>\n
Defence Minister John Healey told the BBC that the government, \u201cguided again by the king\u201d, was working to finalise the removal of Andrew\u2019s last title.<\/p>\n
Andrew, once celebrated for his role as a Royal Navy helicopter pilot in the 1982 Falklands War, has denied accusations from Virginia Giuffre, Epstein\u2019s main accuser, who alleged in her memoir that she was trafficked to have sex with him as a teenager. \u2014 AFP<\/p>\n
