Florence Welch<\/a> has shared praise for Nick Cave<\/a>, describing him as an \u201cincredibly wonderful human being\u201d and saying that he helped her complete Florence + The Machine<\/a>\u2019s latest album.<\/p>\n The comments come as Florence + The Machine dropped their sixth full-length album, \u2018Everybody Scream\u2019<\/a>, on Friday (October 31). It contained hit singles like \u2018One Of The Greats\u2019 and the title track, and has already gone on to receive acclaim from fans and critics alike.<\/p>\n Now, in a new interview with Rolling Stone<\/a><\/em> about the album, singer Welch has revealed that Cave offered her support and advice during the writing process, and credited him with helping her get it over the finish line.<\/p>\n \u201cNick Cave has been so kind to me,\u201d she began. \u201cNick and Susie Cave have just been the most wonderful and kind friends. I sent Nick some of my poetry, and he helped me edit some.\u201d<\/p>\n Welch went on to add that they kept in touch regularly during the writing process and during her previous time on the road, and would often reassure her when it came to the pressures of touring.<\/p>\n \u201c[I\u2019d] write him stressed emails from tour, and he would reply and be so kind. As someone who\u2019s such a physical performer as well, he understood what I was putting myself through. He\u2019s an incredibly wonderful human being,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n Also speaking to Rolling Stone<\/em>, Welch shed light on a reference to The 1975<\/a> on the latest album.<\/p>\n Referencing the lyrics: \u201cBreaking my bones\/Getting four out of five\/Listening to a song by the 1975\/I thought, \u2018Fuck it, I might as well give music by men a try<\/em>,\u201d on \u2018Music by Men\u2018. Welch was asked which track she was listening to at the time.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re fucking in a car\/Shooting heroin\/Saying controversial things<\/em>,\u201d she sang, sounding out \u2018A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships<\/a>\u2018 track \u2018Love It If We Made It\u2019.<\/p>\n \u201cI was like, \u2018This song is really good,\u2019\u201d she shared. \u201cA big thing with songwriting is it\u2019s often because it rhymes. So you needed a band that rhymed with five.\u201d<\/p>\n
