Legendary musician, artist, record label executive, and philanthropist Herb Alpert has announced his new holiday album Christmas Time Is Here<\/em> will release this Friday, November 7.<\/p>\n

Over 12 unique holiday tracks, Alpert brings his unmistakable sound to a wide range of material, including Jos\u00e9 Feliciano\u2019s \u201cFeliz Navidad\u201d and Vince Guaraldi\u2019<\/a>s title theme from A Charlie Brown Christmas<\/em>. He dabbles in modern hits like Mariah Carey\u2019s \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You\u201d and has recently shared the first peek at the album with his rendition of holiday favorite \u201cJingle Bells.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alpert and the Tijuana Brass will be on tour in 2026, with stops in Brookville in March and Rochester in May.<\/p>\n

Christmas Time Is Here<\/em> continues a holiday tradition Alpert first established with 1968\u2019s Christmas Album<\/em>, which topped the Billboard chart three years in a row (1968\u201370), with his version of \u201cThe Christmas Song\u201d climbing to #3 and remaining in the Top 10 for four weeks. The album remained among the Top 10 holiday sellers well into the 1970s, cementing its place as a seasonal favorite.<\/p>\n

Nearly five decades later, 2017\u2019s The Christmas Wish<\/em> achieved similar success earning placements on multiple Billboard charts \u2014 including #3 on Contemporary Jazz Albums and #5 on Current Jazz Albums. This new collection takes a more intimate, groove-driven approach. \u201cI pick out the order just by instinct,\u201d Alpert says \u2014 an honesty of process that matches the natural ease of his sound.<\/p>\n

Christmas Time Is Here<\/em> follows the release of Alpert\u2019s milestone 50th studio album titled 50<\/em><\/a>, which also commemorates 50 years of marriage to his wife, collaborator, and touring partner, Lani Hall.<\/p>\n

\u201cJingle Bells\u201d sets the tone with a rollicking, keyboard-inflected groove and a hustling melody. Alpert\u2019s trumpet rides on top, swinging through the arrangement and punctuated by playful \u201coohs\u201d and \u201cahhs.\u201d Driven by a New Orleans bounce with second-line swagger, the track radiates holiday cheer. As Alpert puts it, \u201cNow and then Christmas songs run through my head, and I jot them down to see if I can record them in a way that they haven\u2019t been heard before.\u201d That instinctive approach keeps the song fresh, a version that feels timeless, buoyant, and alive with possibility.<\/p>\n

Above all, Alpert hopes the music connects. \u201cI hope the listeners feel that these holiday songs are presented in a way that they haven\u2019t been heard before\u2026 and makes them feel good,\u201d he says. With Christmas Time Is Here<\/em>, he once again brings invention and generosity to the holiday songbook, adding to a body of Christmas music that has become an enduring soundtrack to the season.<\/p>\n
