Lily James<\/strong> says she gets a little stunned every time she watches the 1979 film \u201cAlien<\/strong>.\u201d The Baby Driver actress relates not only to the story but also to one of the characters. She spotted a familiar voice on the spaceship Nostromo, which was her grandmother, Helen Horton. Horton gave her voice to the ship\u2019s computer called Mother. James says that realizing that connection often stops her in her tracks.<\/p>\n Lily James revealed that she was thinking of Sigourney Weaver as an inspiration for a role. However, this is when she watched Alien again and realized who was talking from the ship.<\/p>\n She explained, \u201cI was watching it recently because I was thinking of Sigourney Weaver as an inspiration for a role I was hoping to play,\u201d she says. \u201cAnd I do just stop in my tracks every time, like, \u2018My God, this is crazy, that\u2019s my grandma!\u2019\u201d (via The Independent<\/a>)<\/p>\n In earlier interviews, James has spoken about how her grandmother\u2019s career and voice were a part of her upbringing. She once said that her grandmother was full of grace and a \u201cbone structure to die for.\u201d She also talked about her American accent, which was so old that it sounded almost like English.<\/p>\n Lily James<\/a> then talked about how she has never played the grandmother card ever; however, she did use it once to impress the Baby Driver<\/a> director Edgar Wright. She revealed, \u201cThe only time I\u2019ve really played that card was to impress Edgar Wright. Like, \u2018I don\u2019t know if you know, but my grandmother\u2026\u2019 And being the biggest film obsessive, and having seen everything, he just thought it was so cool!\u201d<\/p>\n Lily James was cast in \u2018Baby Driver\u2019 alongside Ansel Elgort, who reprised the roles of Debora and Baby, respectively.
