further speculation regarding the long-reported rift between the royal siblings.<\/p>\n<p>Prince William has commenced a pivotal overseas trip, beginning in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/rio\">Rio<\/a> de Janeiro with a welcome ceremony on Sugarloaf Mountain. <\/p>\n<p>His itinerary includes hosting the glittering Earthshot Prize ceremony members, veterans and their families.<\/p>\n<p>The duke\u2019s spokesperson said: \u201cThe events were planned nearly a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe date of the main event, the dinner, is set by the charity, not Prince Harry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe period of Remembrancetide traditionally extends from the 1-11 November and has done since 1918, over 100 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe can\u2019t choose to
