Online<\/a><\/p>\n Nina Dobrev<\/strong><\/a> is taking a bite out of the Big Apple.<\/p>\n Nearly two months after her sudden breakup from fianc\u00e9 Shaun White<\/strong><\/a>, the Vampire Diaries<\/em><\/a> star shared a glimpse into her life lately with a surprising update: She moved to New York City.<\/p>\n The 36-year-old revealed she\u2019d swapped coasts on her Instagram Stories Nov. 1 alongside a photo of herself holding up a set of keys with an apple-shaped keychain bearing an image of a New York City skyline and the words “New York.” As Nina gushed, “She’s a New Yorker.”<\/p>\n Though the Degrass alum had suggested she was spending more time on the East Coast on social media lately, she had previously been in the process of renovating a home in Los Angeles with Shaun ahead of their breakup.<\/p>\n In a video posted on TikTok<\/a> in July, Nina showcased the construction<\/a> inside the property, writing, “When you\u2019re getting married and building a house in the same year.”<\/p>\n Over this past Halloween weekend, Dobrev showcased a costume that many fans believe is a dig at Shaun: She dressed up as Jennifer Tilly<\/strong>‘s character Tiffany Valentine from the Chucky<\/em> movies and TV show, complete with a doll of the red-headed doll and a fake tattoo of a red heart stabbed with a knife on her chest.<\/p>\n More from E! Online<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cHow much do we have left?\u201d she lip synced in the clip to Shaun, who replied, “Forty bucks.”<\/p>\n In response, Nina joked, “That’s it?”<\/p>\n Instagram \/ Nina Dobrev<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Though not long earlier, she had indicated she and the Olympian weren’t moving too quickly on the wedding planning process.<\/p>\n “I really want to enjoy it and not rush that process,” Nina told E! News<\/a> in March. “We’re just enjoying being engaged at this point and being in that sort of phase because a lot of your life is\u2014you have a boyfriend for half of your life and then you have a husband for half of your life, but the fianc\u00e9 period is very short.”<\/p>\n By September, the two had ended their engagement<\/a> after five years together. And just before the news was made public, Nina hinted at repairing a tainted relationship.<\/p>\n “What’s your advice for women trying to fix their man?” the Degrassi <\/em>alum mouthed in a Sept. 5 TikTok<\/a> video. “Listen, Bob the Builder, he’s got 10 other women trying to fix him too, and you all look like a damn construction crew.”<\/p>\n Since her and Shaun\u2019s breakup, Nina has kept busy with close circle of friends, attending Selena Gomez<\/strong> and Benny Blanco<\/strong>\u2019s wedding with Ashley Park<\/strong> and taking a yacht trip to Europe with Zac Efron<\/strong>, Miles Teller<\/strong>, Keleigh Teller<\/strong> and Chace Crawford<\/strong> for a friend’s wedding.<\/p>\n In fact, the getaway even led to romance rumors<\/a> between her and the High School Musical <\/em>star. However, as Nina later emphasized, these days, she is concentrating on herself.<\/p>\n “I\u2019m excited for the future,” she told TMZ<\/a>, “and the only thing that’s guaranteed is change.”<\/p>\n As Nina embraces her new era, look back at her and Shaun’s time together…<\/p>\n Dobrev and White hit it off after they partied together with friends, including her Vampire Diaries<\/em> co-stars Kayla Ewell<\/strong> and Candice Accola King<\/strong>, at the opening of the Bellagio Resort & Casino’s new supper club The Mayfair in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve.<\/p>\n A year later, amid the coronavirus pandemic, Dobrev would share this photo of her and White at the bash, as well as a video of him lifting her up Dirty Dancing<\/em>-style only to have them both topple into the snow.
