He was 88.<\/p>\n<p>His death was announced in a Facebook post by fellow cinematographer Avraham Karpick. The two worked together on J. Lee Thompson\u2019s 1984 film <em>The Ambassador<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdam did not speak to impress \u2014 he spoke to connect. He did not lead by direction \u2014 he led by example. He never commanded \u2014 he swam beside us, anchored in clarity, wisdom, and calm. Free of ego, far from vanity, he stayed above noise, gossip, and distraction,\u201d he wrote. \u201cNow we are left with echoes \u2014 of his words, his spirit, his way. Because whales never truly vanish. They become part of something deeper.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Greenberg got his start as a film lab tech and a documentary cameraman in Tel Aviv, Israel in the 1950s and 1960s. He got his big break in the American film industry when he became James Cameron\u2019s cinematographer for <em>The Terminator <\/em>and <em>Terminator 2: Judgment Day,<\/em> the latter of which earned him an Oscar nomination.<\/p>\n<p>He also worked on movies like <em>Once Bitten<\/em>\u00a0(1985),\u00a0<em>La Bamba<\/em>\u00a0(1987),\u00a0<em>Three Men and a Baby<\/em>\u00a0(1987),\u00a0<em>Turner &amp; Hooch<\/em>\u00a0(1989),\u00a0<em>Ghost<\/em>\u00a0(1990),\u00a0<em>Sister Act<\/em>\u00a0(1992),\u00a0<em>Rush Hour<\/em>\u00a0(1998),\u00a0<em>Inspector Gadget<\/em>\u00a0(1999) and the Samuel L.
