The Inclusive Music Consortium<\/a><\/strong> (IMC) has today announced the launch of a new downloadable resource for those on the hunt for adaptive musical instruments and equipment. The Guide to Buying Adaptive Musical Instruments<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>brings together the latest innovations in accessible acoustic and electronic instruments with links to inclusive retailers, organisations and funding support.<\/p>\n The IMC is a network of specialist organisations working to make the music industry more accessible and inclusive for disabled people. The guide was commissioned by social enterprise Creative United<\/a><\/strong> and is accessible through the website for the enterprise\u2019s Take It Away<\/a> <\/strong>scheme which offers interest-free loans from Arts Council England and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland for the purchase of a new musical instrument.<\/p>\n Creative United chief executive Mary-Alice Stack said: \u2018As a social enterprise, we\u2019re committed to supporting the creative livelihoods of musicians of all ages and abilities. This guide, alongside our Take It Away\u00a0website, will help raise awareness and enable access to the wide range of product developments and innovations which are helping break down barriers to participation in music for disabled people.\u2019<\/p>\n
