According to Lionsgate, the new deal gives them the rights to \u201cdevelop and produce\u201d future film and television productions featuring The Expendables, as well as the worldwide distribution rights to John Rambo, the sixth installment in the Rambo series.<\/p>\n While no official movies or shows regarding The Expendables have been announced, this does bode well for the franchise. Lionsgate\u2019s involvement and acquisition likely signals that they do plan to do something with the franchise, with their agreement also covering the rights to things like video games and other \u201cimmersive experiences\u201d and \u201ccross-platform extensions.\u201d<\/p>\n The Expendables franchise has spanned four different films following its premiere in 2010.
