Blake Shelton<\/a> left one singing competition show (The Voice<\/a><\/em>), only to help create and star on a whole new one (The Road<\/em><\/a>) two years later. But while\u00a0The Voice<\/em> has failed to produce any superstar, chart-topping singers, Shelton is confident that\u00a0The Road<\/em> will see different results.<\/p>\n While hosting\u00a0Country Countdown USA<\/em><\/a>, Shelton pointed out that the contestants on The Road<\/em> are already established artists who are playing original songs for their performances on the show, so their music is accessible for viewers who want to support them.<\/p>\n \u201cI think we found stars,\u201d he explained. \u201cBecause they will perform an original song. Some of those original songs will take off and go viral, whether they win or not. Their music will be available when the show airs, so they won\u2019t have to wait for the end of the show to buy their music.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cHoneybee\u201d singer also opened up about why he thinks\u00a0The Voice<\/em> has had trouble producing lasting talent. \u201cBy the time the artist wins the show, [the TV people] have already moved on to the next season,\u201d Shelton shared. \u201cBut also, that show was more about the coaches, and that\u2019s why it was so popular. [It\u2019s] not as much [focused] on the artists.\u201d<\/p>\n Indeed, a big drawing point of\u00a0The Voice<\/em> is the dynamic of the four superstar coaches who sit in the big red chairs each season. But that\u2019s not to say that there\u2019s not some star power on\u00a0The Road<\/em>. In addition to Shelton, the show also stars Keith Urban<\/a>, who the artists open for while out on the road, and Gretchen Wilson<\/a>, who serves as a tour manager and mentor<\/a> to the contestants.<\/p>\n Shelton was previously a coach on The Voice<\/em> for 23 season from 2011 to 2023. He left the show to focus on his family and music career, but eventually teamed up with Taylor Sheridan<\/a> to create The Road.<\/em><\/p>\n
