Ken Jennings<\/a> is honoring former Jeopardy!<\/em><\/a> host, Alex Trebek<\/a>, on the fifth anniversary of his death. The now Jeopardy!<\/em> host shared what he did on Instagram to keep Trebek\u2019s memory alive.<\/p>\n \u201cWhere better than the Alex Trebek Stage to mark the beginning of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month? Miss you, Alex.<\/p>\n \ufffd\ufffd<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n ,\u201d he captioned the post.<\/p>\n Not only is this the month of his death, but November is also Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.<\/p>\n In the photo, Jennings stood on the Jeopardy!<\/em> stage, wearing a suit and a tiny purple ribbon on the lapel of his jacket. Purple is the color for pancreatic cancer.<\/p>\n Alex Trebek died from pancreatic cancer on November 8, 2020. He first announced his Stage IV diagnosis on March 6, 2019. Trebek continued to film episodes of Jeopardy!<\/em> up until his death, despite undergoing chemotherapy.<\/p>\n Jennings took over<\/a> as host in September 2020, when Trebek underwent surgery for his cancer, and Jennings\u2019 episodes aired in January 2021. He also played under Trebek during his 74-game streak in 2004.<\/p>\n Jennings then took over as permanent host after Trebek\u2019s death. He was a cohost with Mayim Bialik<\/a> until she was fired<\/a> in 2023.<\/p>\n Fans reacted to Jennings\u2019 tribute in the comments. \u201cRest in peace, Alex, and thank you, Ken, for using your platform to raise awareness!\u201d one fan said.<\/p>\n \u201cGod bless you, Ken.
