SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) \u2014 Actress Diane Ladd died Monday. She was 89.<\/p>\n

Diane Ladd, 3-time Oscar nominee, dies at 89 <\/a><\/p>\n

The 3-time Academy Award-nominated actress filmed her final movie right here in the Coastal Empire in 2022. Called \u201cIsle of Hope<\/a>,\u201d it starred Ladd as a mother who is reunited with her estranged daughter \u2014 played by actress Mary Stuart Masterson \u2014 when the older woman falls ill.<\/p>\n

Beth Graves Nelson, the former Executive Director and Film Commissioner of the Savannah Regional Film Commission made a heart-felt post on social media honoring the actress, saying, \u201cI am mourning the loss of my friend, Diane Ladd. She was an amazing woman and I am proud to have known her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nelson went on to say, \u201cI loved our conversations and I will miss her, even though we haven\u2019t spoken in a few years. She will hold a special place in my heart.\u201d<\/p>\n
