Jennifer Lawrence<\/strong><\/a> and Leonardo DiCaprio<\/a> are set to star in Martin Scorsese\u2019s<\/a> next movie, What Happens at Night<\/a><\/strong>. The movie recently received a big update from one of its stars.<\/p>\n While speaking with Indiewire<\/a>, Lawrence teased the start date for What Happens at Night.<\/p>\n \u201cHopefully, a January\/February situation,\u201d Lawrence said. \u201cBut one never knows with these things. I\u2019ll believe it when I\u2019m there. We\u2019re going to dig in.\u201d<\/p>\n What Happens at Night is based on an adaptation of the ghost story novel\u00a0by Peter Cameron. Scorsese will direct from a screenplay by Patrick Marber. Apple Original Films was in negotiations to finance and produce with Studiocanal.<\/p>\n \u201cThe dream-like story follows a married American couple who travel to a small, snowy European town to adopt a baby,\u201d the official synopsis reads. \u201cThey check into a cavernous, largely deserted hotel where they encounter an enigmatic cast of characters including a flamboyant chanteuse, a depraved businessman and a charismatic faith healer. Nothing is quite as it seems in this strange, frozen world. As the couple struggle to claim their baby, the less they seem to know about themselves and the life they\u2019ve built together.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s a reunion for Lawrence and DiCaprio, who previously starred together in 2021\u2019s Don\u2019t Look Up<\/a>. For DiCaprio and Scorsese, What Happens at Night will be their seventh collaboration and first since 2023\u2019s Killers of the Flower Moon<\/a>.<\/p>\n While promoting One Battle After Another, DiCaprio said that he recently watched Vertigo to prepare for What Happens at Night.<\/p>\n \u201cAny time you get to see and talk movies with him [Scorsese], it\u2019s a religious experience,\u201d DiCaprio told the Big Picture podcast<\/a>. \u201cBut when he talks about a movie that he\u2019s still trying to figure out, he\u2019s like, you know, \u2018Each decade that movie means something different to me. Is she a ghost, or is she not a ghost? Is she there?
