The movie is scheduled to open in theaters on December 25, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The film has been rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association (MPA) for thematic material, some strong language, some sexual material, and brief drug use.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><\/figure>\n<p>In <strong>Song Sung Blue<\/strong>, which is based on a true story, two down-on-their-luck musicians (Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson) form the joyous Neil Diamond tribute band, \u201cLightning &amp; Thunder,\u201d proving it\u2019s never too late to find love and follow your dreams.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Song Sung Blue<\/strong> is based on the 2008 documentary of the same name, directed by Greg Kohs. John Davis and John Fox produced the film for Davis Entertainment, along with Craig Brewer. Filming wrapped on December 11 of that year. <strong>Song Sung Blue<\/strong> had its world premiere at the 2025 AFI Film Festival on October 26, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>When Mike Sardina (Jackman) meets Claire Stengl (Hudson), he\u2019s a small-time musician on the gigging circuit.
