Johnny Depp shared he\u2019s already thinking of ways to make the iconic curmudgeon Ebenezer Scrooge his own.<\/p>\n
The actor \u2014 who is set to make a big return to Hollywood via Ti West\u2019s iteration of the Charles Dickens classic<\/a>, titled \u201cEbenezer: A Christmas Carol\u201d \u2014 made it clear he wasn\u2019t saying \u201cbah, humbug\u201d to character preparation ahead of production. In fact, he told Entertainment Tonight<\/a> on Tuesday that he was looking to take \u201ca different angle on Scrooge,\u201d given so many people have already tackled the character before.<\/p>\n Yet, he noted there was one past portrayal of Scrooge that inspired him \u2014 Alastair Sim\u2019s take on the \u201cA Christmas Carol\u201d protagonist, who he portrayed in the 1951 British film, \u201cScrooge.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/a><\/figure>\n \u201cIt\u2019s one of my favorite films of all time. His performance is perfection,\u201d Depp told the outlet at the Beverly Hills premiere for his second directorial effort, \u201cModi: Three Days on the Wing of Madness.\u201d<\/p>\n Word of Depp\u2019s new role broke back in October, where it was confirmed that Depp, West and Andrea Riseborough were attached to the new holiday project.
