Gretchen Wilson<\/strong> is returning to her roots with plans to rerecord her debut album, Here for the Party.<\/p>\n The country singer, 52, opened up about the upcoming project on her indie label, Redneck Records, during the Monday, November 3, episode of Rolling Stone\u2019s \u201cNashville Now\u201d podcast<\/a>. Instead of making the recreation another solo venture, Wilson will reimagine all of the songs as duets featuring some of the genre\u2019s hottest names.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m going to have a guest vocalist on each song. I\u2019ve gotten some promises from some pretty big names. You know how music works, though. They don\u2019t actually have to be there the day I\u2019m tracking it,\u201d she explained. \u201cBut I\u2019ve gotten far enough to know what key everybody\u2019s song needs to be in.\u201d<\/p>\n Wilson teased a few of the artists who have already agreed to collaborate on the rerecording, including Tanya Tucker<\/strong> on \u201cRedneck Woman\u201d<\/a> and Cody Johnson<\/strong> on \u201cWhen I Think About Cheatin\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n \ud83c\udfac <\/strong>SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox<\/strong><\/a> \ud83c\udfac<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI played a show<\/a> a few weeks ago with [Johnson] and he told me he and his wife have a favorite song on that record: \u2018When I Think About Cheatin\u2019,\u2019\u201d Wilson said of Johnson\u2019s excitement about the track.<\/p>\n Wilson also name-dropped Miranda Lambert<\/strong> and Travis Tritt<\/strong> as confirmed duet partners on the rerecorded album. She added that she\u2019s \u201calmost 100 percent\u201d certain that Ella Langley<\/strong> will sign on too.<\/p>\n Wilson initially released her debut album in May 2004. The project was a major success, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and topping the Billboard U.S. Top Country Albums chart. In 2006, Here for the Party was certified 5x platinum after selling 5 million copies.<\/p>\n The album produced four hit singles: \u201cRedneck Woman,\u201d \u201cHere for the Party,\u201d \u201cWhen I Think About Cheatin\u2019\u201d and \u201cHomewrecker.\u201d Wilson won Best Female Country Vocal Performance for \u201cRedneck Woman\u201d at the 2005 Grammy Awards.<\/p>\n Elsewhere during her podcast appearance, Wilson reflected on her breakout single.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Redneck Woman\u2019 was just different enough at that time and authentic enough in that moment to become an anthem for women<\/a> who weren\u2019t being talked to, or talked about either,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m a very proud woman. I actually like myself. I like the things I\u2019ve been able to accomplish.\u201d<\/p>\n Two decades later, Wilson has released seven studio albums and is still performing live<\/a>. She is also currently appearing on season 1 of the CBS musical competition series The Road<\/a>, advising contestants in her role as tour manager.<\/p>\n \u201cThis show follows these individuals much more closely than any show you\u2019ve seen like it. And it\u2019s a lot more real life. We\u2019re putting them on tour buses, taking them across the country, putting them in bars.
