It begins\u00a0Nov. 7\u00a0at 7:30 p.m. when the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra invites audiences to step into a musical time machine with <strong>&#8220;REWIND: Music of the 80s.&#8221;<\/strong> Conducted by Ken Yanagisawa, the show throws the decade\u2019s biggest hits \u2014 A-ha, Cyndi Lauper, Joan Jett, Journey, Kenny Loggins, and more \u2014 into a full orchestral tapestry. With a live band, guest vocalists, and the symphony behind them, the performance turns Bass Performance Hall into a glittering\u00a01980s time\u00a0warp. Shoulder pads, Aqua-net hair, and leg warmers are optional \u2014 the music is mandatory. The fun continues the next night,\u00a0Nov. 8, with the FWSO performing the second of its two 7:30 p.m. shows.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Earlier that same day, classical music lovers\u00a0can\u00a0immerse themselves in a quieter, equally exacting artistry at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. <strong>The Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth<\/strong> welcomes back French-Canadian pianist Louis Lortie, joined by violinists Gary Levinson and Asi\u00a0Matathias, violist Michael Klotz, and cellist Inbal Segev, for a program that includes Gabriel Faur\u00e9\u2019s \u201cPiano Trio in D Minor,\u201d Camille Saint-Sa\u00ebns\u2019 \u201cPiano Trio No. 1 in F Major,\u201d and Anton\u00edn Dvo\u0159\u00e1k\u2019s \u201cPiano Quintet No. 2 in A Major.\u201d The performance runs 2 to 4 p.m., preceded by a 1:15 p.m. pre-concert conversation with Levinson, who calls Lortie\u2019s Chopin \u201cthe musical standard by which all others are judged.\u201d Critics have long admired his interpretations, and\u00a0<em>The Guardian<\/em>\u00a0described his Faur\u00e9 as \u201cinvested with a certain serenity.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>By\u00a0Nov. 14, Fort Worth\u2019s cultural landscape deepens with two\u00a0very different\u00a0yet equally compelling experiences. That evening, Fort Works Art opens\u00a0<strong>\u201cThe Marks We Make\u201d<\/strong>,\u00a0an international juried exhibition exploring the human figure in contemporary art. From over 400 submissions, 24 artists were selected to interrogate the body\u2019s enduring resonance, whether through abstraction, realism, or somewhere in between. Curated by Sara-Jayne Parsons, director of The Art Galleries at TCU, the exhibition aligns with\u00a0\u201cJenny Saville: The Anatomy of Painting\u201d\u00a0at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, creating a rare, citywide conversation on figuration, form, and the stories our bodies tell. The opening reception runs 6 to 9 p.m. at 2100 Montgomery Street, and the exhibition continues through January 17, 2026.\u00a0\u201cBeing surrounded by museums of such international significance gives us the unique opportunity to align our exhibitions with the broader cultural conversations they\u2019re leading,\u201d says Fort Works Art director Lauren Saba. \u201cThat dialogue is incredibly exciting.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>That same night, Fort Worth turns up the volume at the Museum of Science and History with\u00a0<strong>Live\u00a0From\u00a0The\u00a0Omni<\/strong>, featuring Austin\u2019s CLUB COMA. Known for a swirling mix of electro-pop, mid-2000s French Touch, and gritty rock, CLUB COMA \u2014 drawn from Austin acts Ume,\u00a0Boyfrndz, and Stiletto Feels \u2014 transforms the Omni Theater into a fully immersive universe of sound and light. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.,\u00a0the show begins at 7:30, and after the final note, fans can keep the night alive at Hotel\u00a0Dryce, the official after-party host, complete with drinks and exclusive band content.
