In light of his new book, Theresa Nist<\/strong><\/a> is looking back at one particular conversation with ex-husband Gerry Turner<\/strong><\/a> that still stands out to her today.<\/p>\n

\u201cI finally went to his house and we took a walk around this lake called Pretty Lake and we were coming to the end of it and he said \u2014 this is really bizarre \u2014 He said, \u2018You see that shed up there?\u2019 I said, \u2018Yeah.\u2019 He said, \u2018Well, that\u2019s where I\u2019m going to hide your body after I kill you and chop you up,\u2019\u201d Theresa, 72, claimed on the Tuesday, November 4, episode of the \u201cDear Shandy\u201d<\/a> podcast. \u201cAnd he wasn\u2019t laughing. I said, \u2018Well, if this was his idea of a joke, that was pretty dark humor.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI just felt like there was animosity in that statement that was underlying. Like, maybe if he could have gotten rid of me somehow. I don\u2019t think he would have killed me. No, I don\u2019t think that was true. It\u2019s not true, but it just spoke to an underlying feeling about me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Theresa and Gerry, 74, met on The Golden Bachelor<\/em> season 1, which aired in 2023. The pair ended the show engaged before tying the knot<\/a> in a televised ceremony in 2024. Months later, Theresa and Gerry announced their plans to divorce.<\/p>\n

Theresa\u2019s comments come on the same day that Gerry released his memoir,<\/a> Golden Years: What I\u2019ve Learned from Love, Loss, and Reality TV<\/em>. In the book, Gerry shared his side of the story on their relationship \u2014 including that he felt \u201ctrapped\u201d by deciding to marry Theresa.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just didn\u2019t feel overjoyed about it,\u201d Gerry explained in his Us<\/em>\u00a0digital cover story<\/a> last month, before the book\u2019s release. \u201cSo much of the book is about how I felt at certain moments, and that\u2019s only a momentary truth\u2026 I had second thoughts, but I don\u2019t think [they] were exaggerated from anyone\u2019s normal second thoughts.\u201d<\/p>\n
