Marmozets<\/a> have returned with a new single called \u2018A Kiss From A Mother\u2019, and their first live shows since 2018.<\/p>\n The single marks the first new music from the Yorkshire band in seven years \u2013 following them taking a hiatus after releasing two albums: 2014\u2019s \u2018The Weird And Wonderful Marmozets\u2019 and 2018\u2019s \u2018Knowing What You Know Now<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n Getting back in the studio for the first time since singer Becca and Jack Bottomley got married and started a family together, the recording process saw them reunite with guitarist Sam Macintyre and drummer Josh Macintyre, and enlist Andy Hawkins and Jonathan Gilmore (Biffy Clyro<\/a>, Nothing But Thieves<\/a>) as producers.<\/p>\n The comeback single, \u2018A Kiss From A Mother\u2019, sees them reignite their signature ferocious sound, and pack a punch with charismatic, soaring vocals and gothy garage-inspired guitar riffs.<\/p>\n \u201cTime to feel alive<\/em>,\u201d Becca Bottomley roars as the band erupt into the chorus. \u201cAct on what you hear\/ Not in one ear and out the other\/ Nothing two-faced or fickle here\/ A kiss from a mother<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe message of the song is to make sure you listen, rather than just shoot straight back,\u201d the frontwoman explained. \u201cProbably everyone can relate to the idea of not letting some advice go in one ear and out the other, let it actually immerse in you. As for my voice, that\u2019s just my spirit coming out! I\u2019m not playing a character; I\u2019m giving it all that I\u2019ve got.\u201d<\/p>\n
