At least Hallmark movies can be entertaining and tonally consistent.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll\u2019s Fair\u201d is awful in a way that\u2019s mind-boggling.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Now streaming on Hulu, the legal drama stars <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/10\/30\/entertainment\/kim-kardashian-says-1969-moon-landing-was-fake-didnt-happen\/\">Kim Kardashian,<\/a> Sarah Paulson, Glenn Close, Naomi Watts, Teyana Taylor, and Niecy Nash-Betts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><figcaption>Kim Kardashian iin \u201cAll\u2019s Fair.\u201d  <span class=\"credit\">Disney<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Teyana Taylor, Sarah Paulson, Naomi Watts, Kim Kardashian, Niecy Nash-Betts at an event for \u201cAll\u2019s Fair\u201d at the Whitby Hotel in New York City on Oct. 28, 2025. <span class=\"credit\">Disney<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The plot is a hat-tip to the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2017\/04\/22\/girlboss-is-a-feminist-fraud\/\">\u201cGirlboss\u201d <\/a>Sheryl Sandberg \u201cLean In\u201d era. So, it\u2019s at least a decade stale. The story follows several women working at their own divorce law firm.<\/p>\n<p>One of the lawyers, Emerald (Nash) says lines that sound like a tedious self-help book, like, \u201cwe stepped away from the patriarchy, and towards something of our own. Now, look at us!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The absurdly named Allura Grant (Kardashian) gives her colleagues conversational prompts like, \u201cYour favorite case of the last 10 years \u2013 go!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ah yes, that\u2019s a natural conversation. It wouldn\u2019t be a surprise if it was revealed that ChatGPT wrote this script.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Outside of the show, Kardashian is an aspiring lawyer herself, and <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/11\/04\/celebrity-news\/kim-kardashian-blames-chatgpt-for-failing-law-exams\/\">recently blamed ChatGPT for failing<\/a> her law exam. It\u2019s a cautionary tale, but the show\u2019s writers seem to have taken it as a directive.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Kim Kardashian and Naomi Watts in \u201cAll\u2019s Fair.\u201d  <span class=\"credit\">Disney<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Niecy Nash, Glenn Close, and Kim Kardashian in \u201cAll\u2019s Fair.\u201d  <span class=\"credit\">Disney<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Every creative choice that went into \u201cAll\u2019s Fair\u201d is baffling.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The stunt casting of Kardashian might have worked to draw eyeballs to the show\u2019s posters. (She and her mom, Kris Jenner, are also among its exec producers). But that\u2019s as far as it goes. When she\u2019s onscreen, it feels like a strange joke the audience isn\u2019t in on, to watch her give mannequin-blank expressions and deliver lines like, \u201cThey don\u2019t take divorce law or women seriously!\u201d in a robotic monotone.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Is this supposed to be feminist? Is it camp? Does it think this is a \u201cScandal\u201d-esque drama? But \u201cAll\u2019s Fair\u201d doesn\u2019t seem to know what kind of show it wants to be, lurching chaotically from one scene to the next like a toddler learning to walk.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Every scene feels curated to be shared as a two-minute snippet on TikTok. But stringing TikToks together doesn\u2019t make a watchable show.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nobody behaves like a real human being. When Allura\u2019s boyfriend, Chase (Matthew Noszka), proposes and presents her with a diamond ring, her immediate response is, \u201cDidn\u2019t this belong to Elizabeth Taylor?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>Huh?<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Chase replies, \u201cI know how much you love her\u2026even though I don\u2019t know who she is.\u201d He then says \u201ccome to daddy\u201d as they awkwardly make out.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s so cringeworthy, I had to pause it and look away for a minute. Some shows can get away with that, like Tim Robinson in his HBO series <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/10\/12\/entertainment\/how-to-watch-new-tim-robinson-hbo-show-the-chair-company\/\">\u201cThe Chair Company,\u201d<\/a> because that\u2019s his schtick. He\u2019s honed that behavior down to a comedy science.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But \u201cAll\u2019s Fair\u201d isn\u2019t sharp or deliberate about it, and it\u2019s not clear that the soapy mess is<em> trying<\/em> to be a comedy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The dialogue is straight out of a bad \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d sketch that leaves you wondering what the joke is supposed to be. There\u2019s nothing to invest in, nothing to hold on to. A nature documentary has more of a narrative than this.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The real actors are unable to save this trainwreck. Paulson and Close are Hollywood heavyweights. Paulson gives a melodramatic performance that feels like it belongs in a high school play, shrieking lines like, \u201cWhy can\u2019t you choose me, why?!\u201d and, \u201cHaving me as an enemy is very unwise,\u201d as she smashes knick-knacks decorating an office.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Sarah Paulson in \u201cAll\u2019s Fair.\u201d  <span class=\"credit\">Disney<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Paulson is just one of many actors with bizarre overwrought performances, as if the show is trying to balance out Kardashian\u2019s affectless delivery by having every other cast member weep and shout their lines.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Who directed this? A 14-year-old would have done a better job.\u00a0It\u2019s no wonder the critics\u2019 <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/11\/05\/celebrity-news\/kim-kardashians-alls-fair-receives-shocking-0-rotten-tomatoes-rating-called-the-worst-tv-show-by-critics\/?utm_campaign=pagesix&amp;utm_medium=referral\">score on Rotten Tomatoes is 0%.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Fellow critics such as <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/tv-and-radio\/2025\/nov\/04\/alls-fair-review-kim-kardashian-divorce-drama-is-fascinatingly-existentially-terrible\">Lucy Mangan of the Guardian<\/a> wrote, \u201cI did not know it was still possible to make television this bad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/tv\/2025\/11\/04\/alls-fair-hulu-ryan-murphy-kim-kardashian-review\/86991523007\/\">USA Today\u2018s Kelly Lawler<\/a> called the drama \u201cthe worst TV show of the year,\u201d while The <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-reviews\/alls-fair-review-kim-kardashian-ryan-murphy-hulu-niecy-nash-1236417344\/\">Hollywood Reporter\u2019s TV critic Angie Han<\/a> called the series \u201cbrain dead.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The poster for \u201cAll\u2019s Fair.\u201d  <span class=\"credit\">Disney<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The only nice thing that can be said about \u201cAll\u2019s Fair\u201d is: congratulations to the cast and crew for getting a paycheck.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Close hasn\u2019t been in something this murderous since she was Cruella de Vil.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s so painful to watch, it\u2019s a mercy when the credits roll.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><em> \u2018 The preceding article may include information circulated by third parties \u2019 <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> \u2018 Some details of this article were extracted from the following source celebrity.land \u2019 <\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It should be illegal for a legal drama to be this terrible.
