British rockers Babyshambles<\/a> are back with \u201cDandy Hooligan,\u201d their first new song in 12 years.<\/p>\n The new track arrives as Babyshambles gear up for their 2025 UK reunion tour, which will serve as the band\u2019s first proper outing in over 10 years. \u201cDandy Hooligan\u201d is a warm reggae tune with tender, occasionally playful vocals from singer Pete Doherty. Throughout, he pays homage to Bob Morris, a friend of the band and anti-Nazi who also stars in the song\u2019s official video. \u201cHe loves an old hat shop\/ And a good punch up\/ He never punch down,\u201d sings Doherty.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a well-turned-out, elegantly crafted; reggae-ska-pop song\u2026 with a sweet melody to bowl along to with your sharpened walking cane,\u201d Doherty said of the new song. \u201cWord from the \u2018shambles camp is that it\u2019s a homage to a legendary National Front basher.\u201d Watch the song\u2019s video below.<\/p>\n Related Video<\/p>\n Doherty and his fellow Babyshambles are set to commence their 2025 UK tour on November 13th. Though they have not confirmed a new album to follow up 2013\u2019s\u00a0Sequel to the Prequel<\/em>, Doherty told\u00a0NME<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>\u201cWhen we do the bigger shows, it\u2019d be nice to release a single and a couple of B-sides\u2026 I\u2019ve got a couple of ideas and when we get in a room, we\u2019ll try them out.\u201d<\/p>\n The band also mourned the loss of founding guitarist Patrick Walden<\/a> this year, who was in talks to rejoin the band on their reunion tour before his death at the age of 46. Calling Walden\u2019s death \u201ca real trigger to get it done,\u201d Doherty explained, \u201cMy first thought was of just seeing his face up there while we\u2019re playing and that\u2019ll be an important part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n Still, the group is energized and excited to return to the stage. \u201cThere was always talk about it; there was always a desire to play those songs again,\u201d Doherty said to NME<\/em>, \u201cbut the centrifugal point of it was addiction really, and the danger that me and Mick would be an unhealthy influence on each other.
