Country legend Hank Williams<\/a> has many enduring and influential songs to his credit, from \u201cHey, Good Lookin\u2019\u201d to \u201cHonky Tonk Blues\u201d \u201cI\u2019m So Lonesome I Could Cry.\u201d<\/p>\n Now the Alabama native is earning new kudos for one of his tunes, via the Grand Ole Opry<\/a> and its 100th anniversary celebration<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cYour Cheatin\u2019 Heart,\u201d a 1952 classic, is prominently featured in \u201cOpry 100: Country\u2019s Greatest Songs,\u201d a double album set for release on Friday, Nov. 7. Even better, Williams\u2019 song is the first track on the 20-song collection, setting the tone for all the songs to follow.<\/p>\n Fans votes determined the tracks for \u201cOpry 100: Country\u2019s Greatest Songs,\u201d according to a news release, and the album highlights live performances from the Opry stage in Nashville. Ashley McBryde\u2019s<\/a> 2024 version of \u201cYour Cheatin\u2019 Heart\u201d kicks off the album, with her twangy vocals front and center.<\/p>\n \u201cOn September 7, 2024, Opry member Ashley McBryde stepped up to the microphone to sing \u2018Your Cheatin\u2019 Heart,\u2019 more than 70 years after Hank Williams first sang it,\u201d the Opry\u2019s YouTube channels says. \u201cIn that moment, she carried on a timeless Opry tradition \u2014 keeping the songs of the past alive for those in the audience that night and tuned in around the world.\u201c<\/p>\n (Watch McBryde\u2019s performance in the video below.)<\/p>\n It\u2019s no surprise when a tune by Williams appears on any list of the greatest country songs.
