{"id":2139111,"date":"2025-11-06T14:51:27","date_gmt":"2025-11-06T14:51:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2139111"},"modified":"2025-11-06T14:51:27","modified_gmt":"2025-11-06T14:51:27","slug":"robbie-williams-revives-the-word-for-his-new-music-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/robbie-williams-revives-the-word-for-his-new-music-video\/","title":{"rendered":"Robbie Williams revives &#8216;The Word&#8217; for his new music video"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"post-814789\">\n<div class=\"featured-img\"><\/p>\n<p>(Credits: Charlie Lightening)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-meta\">\n<p> <time datetime=\"2025-11-06T14:45:01+00:00\">Thu 6 November 2025 14:45, UK<\/time> <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/faroutmagazine.co.uk\/tags\/robbie-williams\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Robbie Williams<\/a> has brought <em>The Word<\/em> back from the dead for the music video for his new single, \u2018Pretty Face\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Word<\/em> was a cultural phenomenon during the 1990s, welcoming left-field musical guests to a prime-time slot on Channel 4 on Friday evenings between 1990 and 1995.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-grvmedia-grv-video GRVVideo GRVPrimisVideo\"\/>\n<p>Sadly, Williams never had the opportunity to perform on <em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/faroutmagazine.co.uk\/the-word-tv-show-nirvana-oasis-snoop-dogg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">The Word<\/a><\/em> when the programme was on air, but he has now made up for that with the video for \u2018Pretty Face\u2019, which has seen him travel back in time to the 1990s.<\/p>\n<p>He says of the video: \u201cThis is my \u2018DeLorean Moment\u2019 back to 1995 .. <em>The Word<\/em> was the late-night gateway to so many \u2013 Nirvana, Oasis, Happy Mondays\u2026 If <em>BRITPOP<\/em> is the album I would have made, then THIS would have been the TV show\u2026. now a (virtual) reality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new release is the fourth single to be released from his new record<em> Britpop<\/em>, following \u2018Rocket\u2019, \u2018Spies\u2019 and \u2018Human\u2019. The LP, set for release on February 6th, 2026, boasts collaborations with Coldplay\u2019s Chris Martin, Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes and Black Sabbath\u2019s Tony Iommi.<\/p>\n<p>It was initially set for release on October 3rd. When <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/faroutmagazine.co.uk\/robbie-williams-delayed-album-avoid-taylor-swift-chart-battle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">he performed an intimate show<\/a> at Dingwalls in London, which was supposed to be a launch party for\u00a0<em>Britpop<\/em>, Williams honestly explained why he pushed it back, telling fans, \u201cWe\u2019re all pretending [the scheduling change] is not about Taylor Swift, but it fucking is, you can\u2019t compete with that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued, \u201cI was worried about making you all wait for the record. But then I was like, \u2018Fuck it\u2019. I\u2019m sorry, but I\u2019m fucking being selfish.
