Almost. Every. Single. One. Not that there\u2019s anything wrong with that, but that\u2019s not exactly what we do here unless it\u2019s something really cool and unusual. Let\u2019s instead focus on the exceptions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Singles<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Babyshambles, <em>Dandy Hooligan<\/em> (Independent)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes, this is Pete Doherty\u2019s band. They haven\u2019t released anything new in 12 years, but with a UK tour booked (the first in 11 years) and with the state of the world being what it is, they\u2019ve come back with a fascist-basher.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Babyshambles - Dandy Hooligan (Official Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Rdsz_z8rp9o?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><strong>2. Chet Faker, <em>This Time for Real<\/em> (Frontside)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chet Faker (Nicholas James Murphy to his mom and to fans who got into the music he released under his real name) is an award-winning indie darling from Australia who is prepping for the release of an album entitled <em>A Love for Strangers<\/em> (February 13). There will be a concerted attack on North America with a 2026 headline tour with shows in Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal next May. If you need a feel good song this weekend, this might be it.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Chet Faker - This Time For Real (Official Music Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tDRyG_ll6Hs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><strong>3. Hollerado, <em>What Killed Elvis Presley?<\/em> (Royal Mountain)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thought Hollerado had called it quits back in 2019? Me, too. Now, though, they appear to have second thoughts about retiring. To the shock of all fans, they have an EP entitled<em> Start a Band<\/em> that leads off with a question about who offed The King. A sold-out Canadian tour started last week. Warning: Earworm ahead.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Hollerado - What Killed Elvis Presley? New Found Glory,\u00a0 <em>Treat Yourself<\/em> (Pure Noise Records)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s another set-up for 2026. It\u2019s the third overall single for their next album, which is due on February 20. This will be the band\u2019s first full album in six years. Having a hard time with life these days? Papa Roach, <em>Braindead<\/em> feat. Toby Morse (New Noize\/ADA)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes, a version of this song came out a while ago, but the band has decided to release a live version featuring Toby Morse from the hardcore band, Hazen Street. This is only being serviced to Canadian radio ahead of a cross-country tour that starts on November 25 in Vancouver.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Papa Roach - BRAINDEAD (Recorded Fully Live) [at Lowlands Festival NL 2025]\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Hs_uGgETBJs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><strong>6. Silversun Pickups, <em>The Wreckage<\/em> (New Machine Recordings)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Leader Brian Aubert says that the band wanted to write a \u201cbass song in the vein of The Cure or Jane\u2019s Addiction. Trust me, you\u2019ll hear it immediately. This is the first single from their seventh studio album, Tenterhooks (their first on on their own label) on February 6.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Wreckage\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NL2xewlv0jk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><strong>Albums<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Finger Eleven, <em>Last Night On Earth<\/em> (Better Noise Music)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes, it\u2019s been ten years since the last Finger Eleven studio record. We\u2019re not counting the greatest hits record from 2023, but that collection did inject new life into the band and prompted them to start work on new music. Credit their cover of Pink Floyd\u2019s <em>Welcome to the Machine\u2013<\/em>a new recording-<em>\u2013<\/em>from that collection. Ex of Toronto\u2019s Groovy Religion, Steve has turned in a strong record that should reinforce the guy\u2019s ability as a rocker. This is their sixth album overall. And no, I didn\u2019t make a typo in the title of the album. Sorry, <em>COSPLAY<\/em> (Domino)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sorry (formerly known as Fish, which as you might guess, caused some confusion) are from North London. Among the five people in the group, one is dedicated as \u201cvibe manager.\u201d What do they sound like? Impossible to categorize. One minute they\u2019re all grunge-y and then next they fly off on a jazz tangent tinged with trip-hop. The West London trio are now up to their seventh album. This is how the album ends.
