ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro said in a statement that \u201cESPN drove over 2.9 million new users into the PENN ecosystem, with a strong uptick in first-time bettors this fall\u201d and the company is \u201cnow pursuing other media and marketing opportunities within this space.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a separate release regarding ESPN\u2019s DraftKings partnership, Pitaro said the company\u2019s \u201cbetting approach has focused on offering an integrated experience within our products,\u201d and the partnership would \u201callow us to build upon that foundation, continue to super-serve passionate sports fans and grow our ESPN direct-to-consumer business.\u201d<\/p>\n
