Charli XCX\u2019s movie-star era<\/a> may be in full swing, but that doesn\u2019t mean she\u2019s abandoning her pop-star ways<\/a> completely. In fact, she\u2019ll be back with new music before we know it.<\/p>\n On Nov. 6, the 33-year-old announced her new single \u201cHouse\u201d arrives in just a few days on Monday, Nov. 10. Charli<\/a> shared the news via a cryptic 10-second teaser in which the \u201cGirl, So Confusing\u201d singer lies on the ground staring at a crow, as a gruff male voice \u2014 one that presumably belongs to featured artist John Cale \u2014 cuts through an orchestra of string instruments to ask, \u201cCan I speak to you privately for a moment?\u201d <\/p>\n Before you get too excited \u2014 the song marks the first release tied to Emerald Fennell\u2019s 2026 film adaptation of Wuthering Heights<\/em>, for which Charli<\/a> is the composer. In other words, don\u2019t expect this song to sound like a Brat <\/em>redux. \u201cHouse featuring @therealjohncale<\/a>,\u201d she wrote on Instagram. \u201cThe first offering from my album for Emerald Fennell\u2019s adaptation of \u2018Wuthering Heights\u2019. Yours, Monday.\u201d<\/p>\n The British pop star continued waxing poetic about the project on IG stories, writing, \u201cI got a call from Emerald Fennell last Christmas asking whether I would consider working on a song for her adaptation of Wuthering Heights. <\/em>I read the script and immediately felt inspired so Finn Keane and I began working on not just one but many songs that we felt connected to the world she was creating.
