A spokesperson for the BBC told The Independent: \u201cWe kindly ask anyone who thinks they know the outcome of The Celebrity Traitors to keep whatever they believe they know to themselves.\u201d<\/p>\nTraitors Alan Carr<\/a> and Cat Burns<\/a> have had a phenomenal run, with each of them coming under suspicion on just a handful of occasions. However, comedian Carr appeared to blow his cover<\/a> in the penultimate episode last week, as he burst out laughing while attempting to declare: \u201cI am a faithful.\u201d <\/p>\nJoe Marler<\/a> is the Faithful who has come closest to rumbling the devious pair. The former England rugby player was labelled a \u201cgenius\u201d by fans<\/a> after last Thursday\u2019s episode, which saw him correctly work out who the remaining Traitors are. Marler seems to have convinced Nick Mohammed<\/a> of his theory, but the pair will most likely need the third remaining Faithful, historian David Olusoga<\/a>, on side in order to win. <\/p>\nHosted by Claudia Winkleman<\/a>, tonight\u2019s episode will see the final five take part in a challenge. They\u2019ll then eliminate players via a vote until they all agree to end the game. If it\u2019s just Faithfuls at the very end, they\u2019ll split the prize pot. \n\u201cHe\u2019s knitting me a \u2018flabbergasted\u2019 Flump hat,\u201d Kate said on Good Morning Britain today. \u201cYou know my ridiculous Flump hat? That and flabbergasted is all I\u2019m going to be known for now.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In the first episode of The Celebrity Traitors, Alan Carr seemed earmarked for early banishment from the castle after he was selected as one of the three Traitors alongside Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\nWhile the chat show host and the musician seemed to embrace their new role with remarkable sangfroid, Carr melted under the pressure. \u201cI have a sweating problem and I can\u2019t keep a secret,\u201d he admitted early on. Not exactly ideal traits for a Traitor, then. And when he claimed that he was \u201cworse than Linda\u201d, in reference to season three\u2019s over the top opera singer, we were inclined to believe him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\nBut as the series has gone on, the comedian has grown in confidence \u2013 partly because, well, his fellow contestants haven\u2019t really bothered to suspect him until now, despite some very messy gameplay. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\nThe first four episodes averaged 12.6 million viewers, according to seven-day consolidated figures from Barb. The show\u2019s audience has grown even further from there, which is a trend we also saw with previous civilian series. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\nExperts are predicting that 14 or even 15 million people could watch tonight\u2019s episode. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\nTo put that into perspective, it\u2019s highly rare for a non-live news or sports programme to achieve a seven-day audience of 12 million or more. It happened just twice in 2024 and both times were thanks to Christmas Day programming. The final episode of Gavin & Stacey pulled in 19.3m viewers while 17.1m of us tuned in to the feature-length Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\nBurns\u2019 success as a Traitor has largely been thanks to how carefully she\u2019s walked a very tricky tightrope. Where other celebrity contestants are loud, she is quiet \u2013 but never too quiet. Where the others forward ever-more preposterous theories, she holds back \u2013 right up until the moment it would look suspicious not to speak up, at which point she drops a succinct yet considered opinion in her soothing, resonant voice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\nSir Stephen Fry was one of the first to seriously point the finger at the 25-year-old as he noted that she often fell asleep during car journeys to and from challenges, suggesting late nights of \u201cmurdering\u201d. \nThe ex-England player wasted no time in cementing himself as a powerful player though, excelling in the challenges and putting forward plenty of ideas at the roundtables. Throughout the game, Marler has shown a cool but focused determination to uncover the Traitors. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\nIt was Joe who came up with the \u2018big dog\u2019 theory that (eventually) led to Jonathan Ross\u2019s downfall and in last Thursday\u2019s episode, he figured out that Alan Carr and Cat Burns are the two remaining Traitors – which led to viewers labelling him a \u201cgenius\u201d. In hindsight, it would have been smart for the Traitors to \u2018murder\u2019 him long before the final. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\nThe ex-England player wasted no time in cementing himself as a powerful player though, excelling in the challenges and putting forward plenty of ideas at the roundtables. Throughout the game, Marler has shown a cool but focused determination to uncover the Traitors. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\nIt was Joe who came up with the \u2018big dog\u2019 theory that (eventually) led to Jonathan Ross\u2019s downfall and in last Thursday\u2019s episode, he figured out that Alan Carr and Cat Burns are the two remaining Traitors – which led to viewers labelling him a \u201cgenius\u201d. In hindsight, it would have been smart for the Traitors to \u2018murder\u2019 him long before the final. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\nIn tonight\u2019s episode, he\u2019ll need to get Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga fully onboard with his latest (correct) theory. And thankfully for Marler, the former seems to be sold on it already. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\nThe celebrities are said to have each been paid a flat fee of \u00a340,000.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\nOn The Rest Is Entertainment podcast in July, host Marina Hyde said: \u201cIt\u2019s certainly interesting to compare something like Celebrity Traitors on the BBC to I\u2019m a Celebrity on ITV.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\nAddressing the line-up rumours circulating at the time – many of which turned out to be true – she added: \u201cLook at the calibre of the people they got. They were able to pay everybody a blanket 40k fee, right? They\u2019re paying them a 40k fee.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nThe Celebrity Traitors<\/a> final airs on BBC One tonight \u2013 meaning fans will get to see if the Faithfuls can secure the prize pot. <\/p>\n Some viewers have already seen the episode though, as it was released on a Canadian streaming service<\/a> before hastily being taken down. A spokesperson for the BBC told The Independent: \u201cWe kindly ask anyone who thinks they know the outcome of The Celebrity Traitors to keep whatever they believe they know to themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n Traitors Alan Carr<\/a> and Cat Burns<\/a> have had a phenomenal run, with each of them coming under suspicion on just a handful of occasions. However, comedian Carr appeared to blow his cover<\/a> in the penultimate episode last week, as he burst out laughing while attempting to declare: \u201cI am a faithful.\u201d <\/p>\n Joe Marler<\/a> is the Faithful who has come closest to rumbling the devious pair. The former England rugby player was labelled a \u201cgenius\u201d by fans<\/a> after last Thursday\u2019s episode, which saw him correctly work out who the remaining Traitors are. Marler seems to have convinced Nick Mohammed<\/a> of his theory, but the pair will most likely need the third remaining Faithful, historian David Olusoga<\/a>, on side in order to win. <\/p>\n Hosted by Claudia Winkleman<\/a>, tonight\u2019s episode will see the final five take part in a challenge. They\u2019ll then eliminate players via a vote until they all agree to end the game. If it\u2019s just Faithfuls at the very end, they\u2019ll split the prize pot. Very sweet. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cHe\u2019s knitting me a \u2018flabbergasted\u2019 Flump hat,\u201d Kate said on Good Morning Britain today. \u201cYou know my ridiculous Flump hat? In the first episode of The Celebrity Traitors, Alan Carr seemed earmarked for early banishment from the castle after he was selected as one of the three Traitors alongside Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n While the chat show host and the musician seemed to embrace their new role with remarkable sangfroid, Carr melted under the pressure. \u201cI have a sweating problem and I can\u2019t keep a secret,\u201d he admitted early on. Not exactly ideal traits for a Traitor, then. And when he claimed that he was \u201cworse than Linda\u201d, in reference to season three\u2019s over the top opera singer, we were inclined to believe him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n But as the series has gone on, the comedian has grown in confidence \u2013 partly because, well, his fellow contestants haven\u2019t really bothered to suspect him until now, despite some very messy gameplay. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n His larger-than-life persona has ended up serving him well: whenever he has done something a little silly or unexpected, like quoting Shakespeare in order to murder Celia Imrie in plain sight, or even forgetting the fact that he\u2019d won a shield, the others seem to have brushed it off as \u201cjust Alan being Alan\u201d. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n But is Carr now on borrowed time? Joe Marler, the remarkably perceptive Faithful behind the original \u201cbig dog\u201d theory, seems to have his number. The show\u2019s audience has grown even further from there, which is a trend we also saw with previous civilian series. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Experts are predicting that 14 or even 15 million people could watch tonight\u2019s episode. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n To put that into perspective, it\u2019s highly rare for a non-live news or sports programme to achieve a seven-day audience of 12 million or more. It happened just twice in 2024 and both times were thanks to Christmas Day programming. The final episode of Gavin & Stacey pulled in 19.3m viewers while 17.1m of us tuned in to the feature-length Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The BBC is yet to officially confirm a second celebrity series of The Traitors but with viewing figures like these, surely one will be on the way… <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Rachel McGrath<\/span>6 November 2025 17:46<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n In a show dominated by big personalities, singer-songwriter Cat Burns has expertly flown under the radar with just a few celebrities ever suspecting her. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Burns\u2019 success as a Traitor has largely been thanks to how carefully she\u2019s walked a very tricky tightrope. Where other celebrity contestants are loud, she is quiet \u2013 but never too quiet. Where the others forward ever-more preposterous theories, she holds back \u2013 right up until the moment it would look suspicious not to speak up, at which point she drops a succinct yet considered opinion in her soothing, resonant voice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Sir Stephen Fry was one of the first to seriously point the finger at the 25-year-old as he noted that she often fell asleep during car journeys to and from challenges, suggesting late nights of \u201cmurdering\u201d.
