Gorillaz<\/a> have shared the reflective new single \u2018The God Of Lying\u2019, featuring IDLES<\/a> frontman Joe Talbot<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The track is the third preview to be shared from their forthcoming album \u2018The Mountain<\/a>\u2019 \u2013 following lead single \u2018The Happy Dictator\u2019<\/a> featuring Sparks<\/a>, and the sprawling track \u2018The Manifesto\u2019<\/a> with Trueno and late D12<\/a> member Proof.<\/p>\n

Recorded in London, Devon and Mumbai, the new song sees Damon Albarn<\/a> and co. join forces with the IDLES, as well as with Ajay Prasanna on bansuri and Viraj Acharya on percussion.<\/p>\n

As with the rest of the album, \u2018The God Of Lying\u2019 sees Gorillaz explore motifs of grief, political division, and whether there is a wider meaning to life.<\/p>\n

\u201cWho am I?\u201d a voice asks at the beginning of the track, as an intriguing, rhythmic beat starts to emerge.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you happy with your housing?\/ Are you climbing up the walls? \/ Are you deafened by the headlines, or does your head not hear at all?<\/em>\u201d sings Talbot in his signature vocal style. \u201cAre you pacified by passion?\/ Are you armed to the teeth? \/ Are you bubbling at the surface of what\u2019s cooking underneath?<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

The track gradually and effortlessly builds, leading to the withdrawn chorus: \u201cRunning to the exit, with a huge grin on my face \/ Screaming, hope is behind, and I want to get high<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n
