Doctor Who star Lenny Rush has landed a new role as the BBC has a shake-up for a special occasion. The star, who portrays Morris Gibbons in the long-running sci-fi series<\/a>, has described his part as “grumpy”, saying the experience was “a lot of fun”.<\/p>\n Rush will take part in a sketch based on the popular reality series The Apprentice, with the special being aired as part of the annual BBC Children in Need Appeal Night.<\/p>\n The sketch will see the actor and a “savvy set of mini candidates” enter the famous boardroom as they attempt to prove that they “mean business” in funding a project for the charity.<\/p>\n The group will interrogate Lord Alan Sugar, with the logline teasing: “The teeny tycoons don\u2019t hold back with their forensic interrogation of Lord, questioning him across a whole range of topics including grumpiness, wealth, football, inheritance and business regrets.”<\/p>\n Lord Sugar will be joined by Baroness Karren Brady and Tim Campbell, with the pair giving their boss “back up”. After years of dishing out criticism, Lord Sugar now finds himself in the firing line.<\/p>\n BBC<\/span><\/p>\n Related: Best streaming services UK 2025 \u2014 including Disney Plus, Netflix, iPlayer and Apple TV+<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n “Leading the charge of a BBC kids takeover has been a lot of fun!” said Rush. “It’s been so good to get back into doing the Children in Need sketches, especially because I get to play a grumpy, self-centred boss as the BBC\u2019s Deputy Head of Programming.”<\/p>\n “As a special one off I\u2019ve agreed to let some youngsters come in and grill me, I\u2019m doing a favour for Pudsey,” added Sugar, who has been the Boss on The Apprentice<\/a> since 2005. “I must be going a bit soft but let\u2019s see what happens.”<\/p>\n BBC<\/span><\/p>\n Related: Missing Doctor Who?
